Welcoming the dawn of 2026. 🥂
As we step into a new year, many of us share a strange, almost collective feeling: the years between 2020 and 2025 don’t register as five distinct years. They feel more like a single, flickering memory. A kind of time blur.
Why does it feel this way?
From a neuroscientific perspective, our sense of time relies heavily on memory. The hippocampus needs anchors new, meaningful, or novel experiences, to mark the passage of time. During lockdowns, routines became repetitive, social contact narrowed, and days started to look the same. With fewer anchors, our internal timeline lost its reference points. In hindsight, the brain compresses those years, turning half a decade into something that feels strangely short.
We didn’t just let time pass. We slowly lost our grip on it.
Now, standing at the edge of another year, it’s worth pausing for a moment. Not to be nostalgic, but to reflect.
How has your sense of time changed since 2020?
If you want a deeper breakdown of this phenomenon, you can watch the full discussion here:

Happiness is biologically impossible to sustain.
We spend our lives thinking "The Void" is a defect we need to fix. But if you look at the neurobiology (Dopamine Prediction Error) and the philosophy of Desire (Lacan), it becomes obvious:
Dissatisfaction is a feature, not a bug.
Your brain is designed to seek, not to possess. In this video essay, I break down why you feel empty even after you get exactly what you want.

We are raised on the myth that if we work hard enough, we can control our destiny. But biology, physics, and history tell a different story.
From the heat death of the universe to the genetic flaws in your own body, failure isn't an anomaly. It is the baseline architecture of reality.
If you are ready to stop running and start understanding the trap, watch the full deep dive below.
