Been really busy with work lately.
Which is good. I’m becoming a lot more integral on production projects. I’ve been doing more of the actual building, problem solving, and implementation, and it feels good to be trusted with that.
I’ve been spending a lot of time in software dev mode. Building tools, fixing problems, making things work, and I am more more confident in my skills surrounding the technical side of what I do.
I’ve also been thinking a lot about videos.
I still want to make them. I just need to find a better rhythm for it. Work has been busy, and I’m trying to balance that with having a social life, staying in shape, and generally being a functioning person.
Creatively, I feel pretty good right now.
I want to let the channel open up a bit. VR game dev is still a big part of what I do, but I want to start sharing more of the other things I’m interested in too.
AR, iOS and Windows packaging, Unreal workflows, film and VFX-style stuff, drawing, animation, look dev, CAD, product design, all of it.
I want to make little scenes, short films, animated ideas, visual experiments, tools for my gear, and physical things I can actually hold after designing them.
There’s a lot I want to learn, and I think I’d rather share that process than wait until I feel like I’ve mastered it.
My face is about 95% healed, I’m feeling more like myself, and I’m starting to feel that creative itch again.
(Also I’m not on the Cadillac formula 1 team, I just helped out some dudes who are so they gave me some merch)

Hey guys,
I bought a house!!! I need do a little work on it and move out of my apartment by the end of June. I’m beyond excited. There’s a very cool space in the basement that I will be turning into a studio for making tutorials.
My next tutorial will be Half Life gravity grab & and bone works style distance grab that you can switch between with an enumerator, hoping to get the code done by end of June and the tutorial out by mid-July. Thanks for all the support on my last few videos!!

Hey guys, just wanted to give a quick update. I know it’s been a minute since I last posted. I’m still working on all of the videos that I’ve promised to make.
However, I am currently trying to buy a house right now so that’s taking up a lot of my free time outside of work. And I haven’t had much time to work on the channel.
Hoping to wrap it up by June and get back to getting videos out for you guys to learn from.
Cheers,
QK

Hey everyone! I just wrapped up filming a Quest packaging tutorial for Unreal Engine 5.5, and it’ll be going live this week. If you’ve been trying to get your VR projects packaged and running on the Meta Quest, this tutorial will walk you through the process step by step.
I’m also still working on the gun template, and it’s turning into a really advanced system. This will include hit impacts for different surfaces, detailed reload animations, and interactive weapon mechanics to push VR immersion even further. Plus, I’ll be releasing multiple guns with this tutorial, so you’ll have a solid starting point for your own projects.
To make it even better, I brought on a concept artist—who happens to be a close friend from college—to design one of the weapons. That means you’ll also get a custom free asset as part of this release!
I’ve also been teaching myself animation over the past couple months, and I will be looking into creating tutorials for producing animations entirely within unreal, here is a sneak peek of one of the animation projects I’m working on.

Hey Everyone,
I am still working on the gun tutorial, Its just taking longer than I expected to make everything work correctly. I wanna make sure that I am building a good BP template that you guys can follow and learn from. Thankfully another dev that I have worked with for almost a decade @josephjanssen2696 is gonna help me by sharing a weapons template that he made back when we were in college. I am also going to bother him for help refining it from UE4 into our existing template in UE5.5.
Since the gun template is gonna take a bit longer, I am going to make the inventory system first, since I have some existing code for that in and older project that I can adapt for this. You can find an example of what that looks like here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=twVRn...
It will take some refrence from an older Human Codeable tutorial from UE4 which you can find here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cw431...
I will be making some changes to how this code works and adapting it to the UE5 VR template.
Sorry it is taking so long. In the meantime, I will be uploading a tutorial on building to the Quest 3 from Unreal 5.5 for standalone quest development sometime this week, since that is something a lot of you have asked for and my previous tutorials on that topic are no longer helpful for that.
Thanks again for all the support! I love making these videos and helping to get people exicited about VR and Unreal Development in general.

Upcoming Tutorials & Updates
Hey everyone, I wanted to give you a quick update on what’s coming next for the channel. My next four tutorials are locked in:
Advanced VR Weapons System – Covering rifles, pistols, and shotguns
Half-Life: Alyx Style Inventory System
Full Body IK in VR
Half-Life: Alyx Gravity Grab Mechanics
After these, I'll be doing a short series on creating custom Metahumans & clothing, diving into technical art, animation, and rigging.
Right now, I'm actively working on the gun tutorial, and I’ll be posting updates soon. In the meantime, you’ll see some unrelated shorts on a few side projects, plus a look at my new Mac editing setup. I’ll also be trying to review every game I play in 2025 in a three-minute review format, so expect to see some of those popping up in my shorts feed as well.
Lastly, I just want to say thank you—I’m only 20 subs away from 10,000. The growth in the last few months has been insane, and I’m incredibly grateful for all of your support. More to come soon!

I'm currently editing the VR Hand Physics tutorial, and it's shaping up to be about an hour and a half long. Not too bad, considering it covers everything you need to know to build a fully functional hand physics system from scratch. Just a heads-up—it’s going to be a longer tutorial, but packed with valuable insights and step-by-step guidance.
