One thing that stops me a lot from making videos is the thought that everything has already been covered.
Since everything about music has been discussed and talked about over and over again, what's the point in making another tutorial video? What's the point of making another plugin video? What's the point of making any videos on this subject anymore when more established people are better qualified to teach it?
I know some people tell me to "just do it anyway," but that rubs me the wrong way. How am I supposed to stand out if I'm doing everything that everyone else is doing?! It makes no sense.
I'll be trying out Nasko's updated Plugdata patch, SILK, and I'll be making some Dubstep from scratch. I think this is going to be a fun, creative stream.
Lately, I've found myself overthinking my videos a lot. This is one of the main reasons I haven't been consistently making videos as much as I want to.
I constantly think to myself:
- "Other people have done this video, so what's the point in adding to the noise?"
- "Will this video even be helpful to others?"
- "Am I even qualified to talk about this?"
It's in moments like these that I have to remind myself that I'm putting too much power into external sources.
I can't control what will happen every time I post. What I can control is my mood going into it.
Am I having fun creating this? Did I set out to do what I said I'm going do today? These are the true questions to ask every day.
We all start out scared when it comes to creating videos and sharing it, especially if you're someone who's not used to it.
The only way you're going to gain confidence, in whatever it is you want to do, is to expose yourself to it as many times as possible to let you know—internally—that creating things is not a threat.

Apparently, it's a multiband frequency shifter with key-tracking abilities, so that sounds interesting all by itself.
