You all are crazy! 40k?! Jeez, uh, thank you - truly! I can't believe I've gotten this far and it's honestly hard to imagine how big of a number 40,000 is. I have a pretty substantial project in the works and is my 40k special of sorts, so keep an eye out for that! I am very excited to share what I've been working on for so long with you all!

Today marks a YEAR since Shugaspansion finished!
Still to this day, it's been so awesome to have been able to bring all this together and I couldn't have done it without the people who helped!

However, there's something Shugatastic (I'm cringing too, don't worry) on the horizon, and I think the past is calling our names… STAY TUNED!

Since the Perplexlored winners just dropped, I want to share what I submitted! I wanted to explain why Shugajo and Shugarock were the only Shugafam members to have ears (Plus what crystal the Shugabush Island castle would be based on and the colossal's name)!

Shugafam members Shugajo and Shugarock are the only members to have ears, this being due to their past interactions with The Living Ocean. Although not human like Spurrit once was, the Shugafam is one of the closest relatives to us humans, therefore having mildly similar effects when consumed.

On a hot summer day during late July, Shugajo and Shugarock went traveling in order to prepare a surprise birthday for Shugabush! Their plan was to gather supplies from Plant Island in order to bake the best Cake with plenty of greenery from Shugabush's sprouting friends from that island. However, the ride was a bit longer than anticipated, and the two Shugafam members were thirsty. Unfortunately, they both underprepared for the journey. With Shugarock's nonchalant nature and Shugajo's over-the-top perfectionism, both seemed to have overlooked the packing of fresh drinking water. Naive as any other thirsty monster, the two drank water from The Living Ocean. Although everything was fine and dandy, and the party went according to plan, the two travelers slowly began to grow pairs of ears. They started off as just little knobs on the sides of their heads, but quickly began to take shape not long after. This thoroughly freaked the two of them out, trying their best to pull their hats over their new feature. Eventually, word spread to the other Shugafam members, who supported their concerns and reassured them, letting them know that they are still loved and appreciated!

As some may inquire, are their ears functional similarly to ours? The short answer would be no, as it is mostly just for show. For Shugarock, they've used these ears as means to wear some gnarly shades while sunbathing. Previously, they kind of, just, lay thin pieces of Quarritz Crystals atop their eyes in hopes of diminishing the strength of the sunlight. On the other hand, Shugajo took inspiration from Grágusairgead, the Shugabush Island Colossal, by using Ear Spuds. This, in Shugajo's own terms, "zones out the world as I focus on the vibrations of my melodies". Although not functional ears, Shugajo was still able to attune these Ear Spuds to connect to their banjo, which sends vibrations through their head, allowing them to essentially isolate their playing within their very mind.
