i ended up buying a new laptop...

i was initially planning to repair my old one, but as time went on, the screen ghosting somehow got even worse than before. It's now at the point where it leaves very visible marks that just won't go away, no matter what, and they've only continued to accumulate over time into whatever it is now. not to mention how my laptop starts to lag a lot when it happens and overheats quite easily.

From my experience, fixing heavy issues like this would probably only last a few weeks or months before the problem comes back, so it didn't seem worth it compared to buying a new laptop.

So I've decided it's probably best to just replace it with a new one.

Luckily, I managed to get a pretty good deal on a much better laptop at a reasonable price (though it still took about half of my life savings, of course).

Overall, it runs really smoothly. It has 16 GB of RAM installed in a single slot instead of two like my previous laptop, which leaves more room for upgrades later. And considering how crazy RAM prices have gotten lately, I'm lucky I was able to afford it.

i was also pretty lucky able to recover most of my files to a hardrive before it all went south, it's not all of them, but i got most of the essential ones such as animation and model files.

So umm, bad news...

My laptop screen broke, leaves out nasty ghosting image which makes everything borderline unreadable, smh.

Quick update:
my current go to solution right now is lowering my screen size to 1280x720 just so i could read fonts on the screen, it also seems to reduce the severity of ghosting screen issue.
