Champions, recent rainfall has brought welcome relief across our area, and Lake County has lifted the countywide burn ban.
While conditions have improved, fire safety remains important. If you're planning an outdoor fire, remember:
* Follow Florida’s Open Fire Laws
* Never Leave A Fire Unattended
* Keep Fires Away From Structures
* Properly Extinguish All Fires
* Keep A Water Source Nearby
* Avoid Burning On Windy Days
Even after rain, dry vegetation can still ignite quickly. A single spark can lead to a dangerous wildfire.
Thank you for helping keep our community safe by using caution and practicing responsible burning.
Champions, please be advised that a section of Lakeshore Drive will be fully closed on Monday, June 1st, beginning at 7:30 a.m. due to scheduled road work.
Traffic will be redirected around the closure using adjacent local streets:
• Drew Street and Palm Drive
or
• Minnehaha Avenue and Bowman Street
The closure is expected to last approximately four hours.
Please plan ahead, allow extra travel time, and use caution when traveling in the area. Thank you for your patience as we continue making improvements throughout our community, the Choice of Champions®.
