SCRIPT FOR MY "LION KING" REMAKE:
Scar: Life's not fair, is it? I shall never be king. And you shall never see the light of another day.
Zazu: The king approaches! This is not a drill. You will answer to Mufasa for missing the ceremony this morning.
Scar: I answer to no one.
Mufasa: Scar! Sarabi and I didn't see you at the presentation of Simba.
Scar: That was today? Must've slipped my mind.
Zazu: As the king's brother, you should've been first in line.
Scar: I was first in line, until the little hairball was born.
Mufasa: That "hairball" is my son and your future king.
Scar: Oh, I shall practice my curtsy.
Simba (Cub): Come on, Dad. We gotta go. Wake up!
Mufasa: Okay, okay. I'm up, I'm up. *yawns* Look, Simba. Everything the light touches is our kingdom. One day, Simba, the sun will set on my time here and will rise with you as the new king.
Simba (Cub): And this'll all be mine?
Mufasa: Everything.
Simba (Cub): What about that shadowy place?
Mufasa: That's beyond our borders. You must never go there, Simba.
Simba (Cub): Hey, Uncle Scar! Guess what? My dad just showed me the whole kingdom. And I'm gonna rule it all!
Scar: He didn't show you what's beyond that rise at the northern border, did he?
Simba (Cub): No. He said I can't go there.
Scar: And he's absolutely right. It's far too dangerous. Only the bravest lions go there. Promise me you'll never visit that dreadful place,
Simba (Cub): No problem.
Scar: There's a good lad. You run along and have fun.
Simba (Cub): Hey, Nala.
Nala (Cub): Hi, Simba.
Simba (Cub): Come on, I just heard about this great place.
Nala (Cub): You did?
Simba (Cub): Yep. It's really cool. Come on!
Nala (Cub): All right!
Simba (Cub): Yeah! Isn't it great?
Nala (Cub): We could get in big trouble.
Zazu: What are you two doing here? We're way beyond the boundary of the Pride Lands.
Banzai: Well, well, well. A trio of trespassers!
Shenzi: We'd love you to stick around for dinner.
Banzai: Here, kitty, kitty, kitty.
Simba (Cub): *roars*
Shenzi: That was it? Hah. Do it again.
Simba (Cub): Dad, I...
Mufasa: Let's go home. Simba, I'm very disappointed in you.
Simba (Cub): I was just trying to be brave like you.
Mufasa: Simba... being brave doesn't mean you go looking for trouble.
Simba (Cub): Oh. I guess kings get scared sometimes, huh?
Mufasa: Mm-hmm. Simba, let me tell you something that my father told me: look at the stars. The great kings of the past look down on us from those stars. So whenever you feel alone, just remember that those kings will always be there to guide you.
Shenzi: You know, if it weren't for those lions, we'd be running the joint.
Scar: Oh, surely we lions are not all that bad.
Shenzi: Well, you know. It wasn't exactly like they were alone, Scar.
Banzai: Yeah. What are we supposed to do? Kill Mufasa?
Scar: Precisely. Now wait here. Your father has a marvelous surprise for you. Oh... and just between us, you might want to work on that little roar of yours.
Simba (Cub): Oh... Okay... *roars* *roars again loudly*
Scar: Mufasa. Quick. Stampede. In the gorge. Simba's down there!
Mufasa: Hold on, Simba! Scar! Help me!
Scar: Long live the king.
Mufasa: *screaming*
Simba (Cub): NOOOOOOOOOO!!!! *cries*
Scar: Simba. What have you done?
Simba (Cub): It was an accident, I didn't mean for it to happen.
Scar: But the king is dead. And if it weren't for you, he'd still be alive.
Simba (Cub): *sniffles* What am I gonna do?
Scar: Run away, Simba... and never return.
Pumbaa: Oh, look. It's a little lion. Can we keep him?
Timon: He's gonna get a bigger.
Pumbaa: But one day, he'll be on our side.
Timon: Okay, okay. We'll keep him.
Simba (Cub): Who are you?
Pumbaa: I'm Pumbaa. And this is Timon.
Timon: Yep. We live an alternative lifestyle. Repeat after me, kid. *clears throat* Hakuna matata.
Simba (Cub): What?
Pumbaa: Hakuna matata. It means "no worries."
Timon: Come with us.
Simba (Cub): Ugh. What's that?
Timon: It's grub. What does it look like?
Simba (Cub): Ewww. Gross.
Timon: Mmm. Tastes like chicken.
Pumbaa: *slurps* Slimy, yet satisfying.
Timon: Well, kid?
Simba (Cub): Oh, well. Hakuna matata. *slurps, gulps* Slimy, yet satisfying.
Timon: That's it.
Pumbaa: Guys. Do you ever look up there and wonder what those sparkly dots are?
Timon: They're fireflies. Fireflies that got stuck up on that big bluish-black thing.
Pumbaa: I always thought they were balls of gas burning billions of miles away. What do you think, Simba?
Simba (Adult): Well, somebody once told me that the great kings of the past are up there... watching over us.
Timon & Pumbaa: *laugh hysterically*
Pumbaa: That's a good one!
Timon: Who told you something like that?
Simba (Adult): Yeah. That's pretty dumb.
Rafiki: Simba! He's alive!
Pumbaa: *screams*
Timon: Pumbaa? Pumbaa! *yelps*
Simba (Adult): Nala? Is it really you?
Nala (Adult): Who are you?
Simba (Adult): It's me, Simba.
Nala (Adult): Wow!
Simba (Adult): It's good to see you again!
Nala (Adult): What are you doing here? Why didn't you come back to Pride Rock? You're the king.
Simba (Adult): I'm not the king. Scar is.
Rafiki: *laughs* I know who are.You're Mufasa's boy. He's alive, and I'll show him to you.
Mufasa: Look inside yourself, Simba. You are more than what you have become. You must take your place in the Circle of Life.
Timon: Uh. We're gonna fight your uncle... for this?
Simba (Adult): Yes, Timon. This is my home.
Timon: Well, Simba. if it's important to you, we're with you to the end.
Simba (Adult): Nala, you find my mother and rally the lionesses. I'll look for Scar.
Scar: Mufasa? No. You're dead.
Simba (Adult): No. It's me, Simba.
Scar: Simba? Simba! I'm a little surprised to see you, alive... You see them? They think I'm king.
Nala (Adult): Well, we don't. Simba is the rightful king.
Simba (Adult): The choice is yours, Scar. Either step down or fight.
Scar: If it weren't for you, Mufasa would still be alive. It's your fault he's dead; do you deny it?
Simba (Adult): No.
Scar: Oh, Simba, you're in trouble again. But this time, Daddy isn't here to save you. And now EVERYONE.. KNOWS... WHY! And here's my little secret: *whispers* I...killed...Mufasa!
Simba (Adult): Murderer!
Scar: Simba. Please have mercy. I beg you.
Simba (Adult): You don't deserve to live.
Scar: What are you going to do? You wouldn't kill your own uncle, would you?
Simba (Adult): No, Scar. I'm not like you.
Scar: Oh, Simba, thank you. You are truly noble. How can I prove myself to you?
Simba (Adult): Run. Run away, Scar. And never return.
Scar: Yes. Of course. As you wish... your Majesty!
Mufasa: Remember.
