We educate a lifestyle that attempts to reduce an individual's or society's use of the Earth's natural resources, and one's personal resources. It is often called "earth harmony living" or "net-zero living". As a practitioner of this lifestyle, we often attempt to reduce the ecological footprint (including their carbon footprint) by altering their methods of transportation, energy consumption, and/or diet. And our aim to make peoples sustainable, naturally balanced, and respectful of humanity's symbiotic relationship with the Earth's natural ecology.

🚀 Exploring Opportunities to Take Indian Agri Innovation Global – Indonesia Next?
I recently had an insightful discussion with Mr. Adithya, who works closely with the Indonesian government, and Mr. Vishal, Founder of Eggcellent.
The conversation revolved around a powerful and practical innovation — Eggcellent, an organic solution that significantly extends the shelf life of eggs at room temperature.
🥚 Why this matters: Eggs are one of the most widely consumed and affordable protein sources globally, especially in countries like Indonesia, where demand is consistently high. However, post-harvest losses, lack of cold chain infrastructure, and supply chain inefficiencies remain key challenges.
💡 Eggcellent’s impact:
Extends egg shelf life without refrigeration
Reduces spoilage and wastage
Supports farmers, distributors, and retailers
Enables efficient long-distance transportation
Strengthens food security in emerging markets
🌏 Why Indonesia? Indonesia presents a strong opportunity due to:
High egg consumption
Growing population and protein demand
Tropical climate (making shelf life extension critical)
Increasing focus on agri-tech and food sustainability
🤝 We had an initial discussion on taking Eggcellent to Indonesia, exploring how this innovation can be adapted and scaled in a new geography.
This is a great example of how Indian agri-innovations can create global impact, especially in regions facing similar challenges in food supply chains, cold storage, and protein distribution.

Is After-Sales Service the Missing Link in India’s Biogas Revolution?
Over the past decade, I have closely followed the growth of decentralized renewable energy solutions in India, especially biogas technology for dairy farms and organic waste management.
Around six years ago, I interviewed Sistema.bio when they had just entered the Indian market. Since then, they have scaled rapidly—partnering with institutions like Tata Trusts and other foundations—installing 50,000+ small-scale biogas plants across the country.
Their positioning has been clear: 👉 One of the world’s leading providers of small biogas solutions
👉 Promoting sustainable farming, circular economy, and clean energy
👉 Supporting farmers with carbon credit-linked income opportunities
I personally documented their work multiple times on Country Farmss, including:
Many farms in mandya (Karnataka)
A pig farm where their biogas system helped reduce odor and improve farm hygiene (Paid Promotion)
⚠️ The Ground Reality: After-Sales Service
While the technology and concept of biogas plants are powerful, the real challenge lies in execution and service.
In a recent case:
A dairy farm in Salem (80+ cows), where the promise was biogas equivalent to ~15 LPG cylinders
After one year of installation, the farmer—who has a mechanical engineering background—encountered problems with the biogas plant.
Service was requested over a month ago
No field technician visit had taken place until yesterday. Only yesterday did they finally come.
Customer support responses have been inconsistent and misleading
There is a clear gap in coordination between support and field teams
Visible cracks in the installed plant raise serious durability concerns
🌱 Why This Matters
India is pushing hard towards:
Renewable energy adoption
Sustainable agriculture
Waste-to-energy solutions
Climate-smart farming practices
Biogas systems play a crucial role in this transition.
But without reliable after-sales service, farmer trust breaks down.
And when trust breaks: ➡️ Technology adoption slows
➡️ Word-of-mouth turns negative
➡️ The entire ecosystem suffers
📢 A Call for Accountability & Improvement
This is not just about one company.
This is about strengthening the biogas ecosystem in India:
Better service infrastructure
Transparent customer communication
Strong field support systems
Long-term farmer relationship management
🤝 Let’s Document Real Farmer Experiences
If you have faced after-sales service issues with biogas plants (especially Sistema.bio), I would like to hear from you.

🌱 Lean Farming & Sustainable Pest Management at Nannilam Eco Village
In continuation of my previous post on Lean Farming, one of the key elements in improving farm efficiency is organic pest management.
As part of this initiative, I provided a sample organic pest trapper to Mr. Sivaprakasam, Farm Manager at Nannilam Eco Village, to conduct an R&D trial of a patented pest management product developed by Bioorgo.
This innovative trap is designed to specifically capture female fruit flies, which play a major role in fruit fly population growth and crop damage. By targeting the breeding population, this technology could significantly improve integrated pest management (IPM) in vegetable farming.
Such agri innovations are essential for building sustainable agriculture systems, reducing chemical pesticide usage, and improving farm productivity.
We are looking forward to the results of this experiment over the next few months and hope it will contribute to the Lean Farming model being developed at Nannilam Eco Village.

🌱 We have heard about Lean Management in industries. But what if Lean principles are applied to farming?
At Nannilam Eco Village, a two-acre vegetable farm is experimenting with something called Lean Farming.
Lean Farming focuses on reducing waste, improving efficiency, and producing food in a sustainable way, similar to how Lean Management transformed modern industries.
This initiative at Nannilam Eco Village is being led by Mr. Santhosh, Business Development Executive, along with Mr. Kumar, the caretaker, who are actively implementing this concept on the ground.
🎥 I will soon be releasing a video series documenting Lean Farming at Nannilam Eco Village, showcasing how this model works in real life.
🌿 The idea is simple and powerful —
Grow your own vegetables within the community and cook them in the common kitchen at Nannilam Eco Village, creating a true farm-to-table ecosystem.
Nannilam Eco Village also offers a unique concept called “Own an Acre”, where people can participate in a social business model focused on sustainable living, regenerative agriculture, and community-based food systems.
In a world facing climate change, food security challenges, and the need for sustainable living, models like this could become an important part of the future of agriculture.
