Tamil Nadu has access to an Agriculture Infrastructure Fund (AIF) of around ₹1,189 crore in 2025, aimed at strengthening post-harvest management, value addition, and agri-entrepreneurship across the state.
At the Country Farmss Green Conclave 2025, held at PGP College of Agricultural Sciences, Namakkal, Mr. Periyasamy delivered a highly insightful session explaining how farmers, FPOs, agri-entrepreneurs, and institutions can effectively tap into the AIF. His session clearly outlined the procedures, eligibility criteria, and practical steps required to access the fund, helping demystify the process and empowering participants to leverage this crucial financial support for building sustainable agri-infrastructure.
Mr. Periyasamy was honoured by Mr. Muralidharan Ramanathan, Founder of the Virutcham Foundation, and Mr. Karthik, a sustainable farming enthusiast, in recognition of his valuable contribution and knowledge sharing.

🌱 Honouring an Unsung Hero of Indian Agriculture 🌱
It was a privilege for Country Farmss to host Mr. Dorairaj, one of the nation’s unsung heroes of agriculture, as a panelist at the Country Farmss Green Conclave 2025, held at PGP Agricultural College, Namakkal. He shared his insights on IoT technology in organic farming, drawing from an extraordinary 56 years of experience in the agriculture sector.
Mr. Dorairaj began his journey in 1968 with the Tamil Nadu Department of Agriculture as an Agricultural Extension Officer and later spent nearly 30 years at Rallis India Limited (a Tata Enterprise), retiring as Vice President (Fertilisers). He then dedicated 14 years to organic inspection, certification, and training, including international assignments in Ethiopia and Ghana (Arima Farms), and served as President of ICCOA, Bengaluru, until June 2024.
At the conclave, he strongly emphasised the critical role of organic certification in ensuring credibility, traceability, farmer trust, and market access. He highlighted how certification not only protects consumers but also enables farmers to receive fair value and connect with national and global organic markets.
The Country Farmss Green Conclave 2025 brought together farmers, students, experts, and agripreneurs to discuss sustainable agriculture, organic practices, and technology-driven solutions, making it a meaningful platform for learning and collaboration.

I had the opportunity to interview Georgina Yaa Kwartemma Boamah, Co-Founder of Verte Tower, a Ghana-based agritech startup redefining how food can be produced in space-constrained and climate-challenged environments.
Verte Tower develops vertical and hydroponic farming systems that allow farmers and communities to grow vegetables using minimal land and water. By focusing on climate-smart, year-round production, the startup directly addresses pressing challenges such as food security, urban agriculture, and youth participation in farming.
With innovation rooted in local realities, Verte Tower is playing a growing role in building a resilient and sustainable food system in Ghana.
