We educate a lifestyle that attempts to reduce an individual's or society's use of the Earth's natural resources, and one's personal resources. It is often called "earth harmony living" or "net-zero living". As a practitioner of this lifestyle, we often attempt to reduce the ecological footprint (including their carbon footprint) by altering their methods of transportation, energy consumption, and/or diet. And our aim to make peoples sustainable, naturally balanced, and respectful of humanity's symbiotic relationship with the Earth's natural ecology.

🌱 Lean Farming & Sustainable Pest Management at Nannilam Eco Village
In continuation of my previous post on Lean Farming, one of the key elements in improving farm efficiency is organic pest management.
As part of this initiative, I provided a sample organic pest trapper to Mr. Sivaprakasam, Farm Manager at Nannilam Eco Village, to conduct an R&D trial of a patented pest management product developed by Bioorgo.
This innovative trap is designed to specifically capture female fruit flies, which play a major role in fruit fly population growth and crop damage. By targeting the breeding population, this technology could significantly improve integrated pest management (IPM) in vegetable farming.
Such agri innovations are essential for building sustainable agriculture systems, reducing chemical pesticide usage, and improving farm productivity.
We are looking forward to the results of this experiment over the next few months and hope it will contribute to the Lean Farming model being developed at Nannilam Eco Village.

🌱 We have heard about Lean Management in industries. But what if Lean principles are applied to farming?
At Nannilam Eco Village, a two-acre vegetable farm is experimenting with something called Lean Farming.
Lean Farming focuses on reducing waste, improving efficiency, and producing food in a sustainable way, similar to how Lean Management transformed modern industries.
This initiative at Nannilam Eco Village is being led by Mr. Santhosh, Business Development Executive, along with Mr. Kumar, the caretaker, who are actively implementing this concept on the ground.
🎥 I will soon be releasing a video series documenting Lean Farming at Nannilam Eco Village, showcasing how this model works in real life.
🌿 The idea is simple and powerful —
Grow your own vegetables within the community and cook them in the common kitchen at Nannilam Eco Village, creating a true farm-to-table ecosystem.
Nannilam Eco Village also offers a unique concept called “Own an Acre”, where people can participate in a social business model focused on sustainable living, regenerative agriculture, and community-based food systems.
In a world facing climate change, food security challenges, and the need for sustainable living, models like this could become an important part of the future of agriculture.

It’s a proud moment for us at Country Farmss Media to have EGGcellent as the Co-Sponsor of Country Farmss Green Conclave 2025 held at PGP College of Agricultural Sciences, Namakkal.
At a time when the global poultry industry is grappling with food waste, rising logistics costs, and climate challenges, EGGcellent is bringing a powerful food-biotechnology innovation to the table.
🥚 Natural Egg Shelf-Life Extension Technology
EGGcellent is a pioneering agri-biotech startup focused on solving one of the biggest problems in the global egg industry — egg spoilage and short shelf life, especially in hot and humid climates.
Their flagship innovation, EGGcellent EGGstender™, is a natural, plant-based egg coating technology applied to raw or boiled eggs.
This biodegradable, antimicrobial coating forms a protective layer on the eggshell that:
Reduces bacterial invasion
Minimizes moisture loss
Extends egg freshness without refrigeration
Enhances egg storage stability in challenging climates
🌍 Why This Innovation Matters
Traditional egg preservation methods such as cold storage or mineral oil treatments can be:
Energy-intensive
Expensive
Less effective in long supply chains
Difficult to maintain in tropical regions
EGGcellent’s sustainable food preservation solution directly addresses these issues by enabling:
Longer shelf life (30–60+ days even in high temperatures)
Reduced egg wastage
Lower operational costs
Expanded export opportunities
Stronger, more resilient poultry supply chains
In a multi-billion-dollar global egg market, reducing spoilage translates into major economic and environmental benefits.
📈 Driving Impact in the Poultry Industry
By combining clean bio-innovation, sustainable agriculture practices, and food supply chain optimization, EGGcellent is contributing to:
Food waste reduction
Climate-resilient agri systems
Sustainable poultry farming

🌍 Cross-Country Knowledge Exchange in Sustainable Agriculture | Italy x India
Recently, Nannilam Eco Village had the pleasure of hosting Mat and Anni from Italy (Lack of Plastics). They stayed with us for a few days, creating a meaningful platform for international agricultural collaboration, permaculture knowledge sharing, and sustainable tourism exchange.
They were warmly welcomed by the Founder, Mr. Rajesh, and Mr. Santhosh, Business Development Executive at Nannilam Eco Village
During their visit, Mat and Anni shared their practical experience in Permaculture farming, regenerative agriculture, and sustainable orchard management. They own a five-acre mountain farm in Italy, where they have been cultivating apples and as well as vegetables for the past six years following permaculture principles and eco-friendly farming practices.
In return, Mr. Santhosh demonstrated traditional Indian organic inputs such as Panchakavya, Jeeva Amirdham, and Fish Amino Acid, highlighting India’s rich heritage in natural farming and indigenous agricultural knowledge systems.
On the final day, I had the opportunity to conduct a detailed interview about:
• Their experience at Nannilam Ecovillage
• Their impressions of South India
• Sustainable agriculture models in Europe
We also had an insightful off-record discussion about farm profitability in Italy. Later, my brother Sathish — a dairy farmer and dairy consultant — joined us to explore comparative insights on dairy farming economics and agricultural sustainability in Europe vs India.
This visit was more than a stay — it was a powerful example of agrotourism, global knowledge exchange, regenerative farming dialogue, and sustainable living collaboration.
🌱 Agriculture connects us. Sustainability unites us.

Nannilam EcoVillage: Alternative Villas Taking Shape
At Nannilam EcoVillage, several villas are currently under development as part of its larger sustainability-focused vision. One of the first villas is now nearing completion, offering a glimpse into how alternative construction methods are being integrated into a planned eco-community.
The villas are designed around the principle of the 3 RRRs – Reduce, Reuse, and Recycle. Instead of relying entirely on conventional cement-heavy construction practices, the project explores materials and techniques that aim to reduce environmental impact while maintaining structural integrity and comfort.
In the nearly completed villa, lime plaster has been used as a finishing material. Lime-based plaster is traditionally known for its breathability, temperature regulation properties, and comparatively lower embodied energy when measured against standard cement finishes. Such material choices reflect an effort to blend traditional building wisdom with contemporary needs.
The flooring features Kota stone, used in multiple design patterns. Kota stone is valued for its durability, natural cooling effect, and long life cycle. The design variations incorporated into the flooring demonstrate how natural materials can be adapted aesthetically without compromising sustainability.
The broader concept behind Nannilam EcoVillage is its “Own an Acre” model. Under this framework, individuals can invest in land and become part of an intentional community that emphasizes ecological responsibility, alternative construction, and long-term sustainability practices.
As climate-conscious real estate models gain attention globally, projects like Nannilam EcoVillage attempt to position sustainability not merely as a marketing element but as a structural foundation.
A detailed video documenting the construction methods, material choices, and overall concept will soon be released on our channel.

Countless seasons.
Heavy rains, scorching summers, shifting winds — and still, it stands strong.
The Gabion Wall Office at Nannilam Eco Village is not just a structure; it’s a statement. Built with sustainability at its core, this nature-aligned space has gracefully withstood climate variations over the years. The only change? A simple replacement of the roof grass — a reminder that when we build with nature, maintenance becomes harmony, not repair.
In a world obsessed with concrete permanence, this living structure proves that eco-conscious design can be durable, resilient, and beautiful.
Located in the serene hills of Kalvarayan Hills, Karumandurai, Nannilam Eco Village is more than a destination — it’s a movement toward earth-aligned living. Their unique “Own an Acre” model allows individuals and families to become part of a thriving sustainable community. It’s not just about owning land; it’s about owning responsibility — to the soil, the water, and future generations.
If you’re someone who believes in living lighter on the planet while building something meaningful, this is a place worth exploring.
