I went out Saturday to work some more on my garden boxes. But it's been weeks since I've worked on them, and I couldn't remember the placement and measurements of all my planned boxes. And when I picked up the notebook where I recorded them, the pages were missing! ??? Anyway, then I remembered - we recorded them! 😟 🤪 😂 😃 😁 👷♀️🔨
Remember when I cleaned out my closet last year? Well, clutter has crept back in and it’s time to do it again. What’s scary for me, is something I didn’t mention in the videos, but did in my coat closet video: carpet beetles. I completely cleared them out, but it’s been a battle, especially with the supply of hair and dander my dogs generously contribute. I’m about to tackle the challenge and will release this video next week, Friday as always.
🛠️ I’m taking this week off from uploading so I can work on my Adaptive Housekeeping system and build the website that will help tie it all together.
Progress is slow. Sometimes it’s filmed. Sometimes it’s not. But this is my real-life plan to make the house actually work—with vlogs, family, chaos, and yes… a system that adapts.
I’ll be back next week with updates and probably some dust in my hair. Hopefully not paint. 😂 💛
Good Monday Morning! Hope you had a beautiful Sunday. When on a walk this morning before working on the cabinet video and saw a bunch of beautiful wildflowers. Took a picture of this because I think it would be pretty for xeriscaping our front yard. What is your favorite wild flower?
Minor mishap today while I was working on a cabinet in the shed that stupidly got me to urgent care. The cabinet was dirty in the way you expect neglected things in sheds to be dirty, and I couldn’t get the sliver out, (it was on my dominant hand) and I realized it had been too long since I had my tetanus booster. So I got some help. I felt silly coming in, but it was hard for the doctor to get it out too 😳 The big bandage was making sure the numbing gel didn’t get anywhere else on my hand while it got to work. When all was done I just needed a bandaid, but I’m kind of afraid of what’s under it. Grateful for a good and kind doctor and modern medicine.
But before that happened, I got all the drawer fronts and doors and one cabinet sanded and ready to prime! Video coming early next week.
Here are a few screenshots from the video at my parents house. It's been a special treat to work on. It will have a real transformation of my mom's sewing room, some discovered treasures and a look into how sewing has come down to me through the generations. Plus my dad made something really nice that finished it off perfectly.
I can't wait to finish it and share it with you all!
Decluttering the pantry room won't mostly as planned—but not quite, and you'll see why end up talking about what happens when you want to keep going, but your battery runs out—literally and emotionally. If you’ve ever hit that wall mid-clean, I hope this video will meet you there.
📺 Look for “Decluttering, Exhaustion, and Being Kind to Yourself (Pantry Room Pt. 3)” tomorrow morning!
Happy beautiful Sunday. Got home yesterday, jumped in bed and this morning got to go with my sister and our husbands to Sunday Morning General Conference for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. I want to testify that Jesus Christ knows you and loves you. When it gets hard, turn to Him. He descended below us all, and knows all our pains and errors. And now He is risen! Our Savior wants us to come to him and be healed.
