I’m currently in the boreal forests of Ontario, Canada, working on a film/documentary about a matter I’m deeply passionate about. The finished project is well over a year away from being finished, but i’ll be sharing some behind the scenes snippets between now and release. A few pics from the last week:

It has taken a while to put together, but I’m finally ready to release my next paddling film. It’ll be going live this coming Friday on YouTube and through Sidetracked Magazine.

I hope you enjoy watching it as much as I enjoyed making it!

Some final mixing and mastering for my next film being done by good friend and professional audio designer, Andrew Dodds.

Andrew is originally from Scotland, so he’s taking great pride in making sure the audio in the film truly reflects the sound and ambience of his homeland!

My next paddling film is almost complete! For this one, I had the pleasure of being joined by Canadian long-distance paddler Martin Trahan for an epic trip in the far north of the Scottish Highlands. This video is almost double the length of the previous ones I have made, so the post-production has taken quite a while.

I'll be posting it very soon!

I recently discovered that my canoeing film The Glen Beyond has been selected for this year's Kendal Mountain Film Festival.

Putting these films together is a time-consuming process, but it's a process that I really enjoy. It's fun to be out there filming the moments as they unfold, and it's just as enjoyable to re-live the moments in the editing process. But knowing the films have inspired some of you to spend more time outdoors or even helped you to learn about something in nature, that is by far the greatest reward for me.

I want to shout a massive thanks to the people who help me put this piece together, as I could not make it without your help. Hopefully see some of you at Kendal Mountain Festival this year. Thank you!

This week, my partner and I had a fun few days on Moel Hebog in Snowdonia working on this project with ‪@WexPhotoVideo‬ for World Photography Day. Big shout-outs to Jordan La Roche, SkyRise Productions and Ben Kenobi Drone!

It's taken me a while, but I’ve finally made a new paddling film!

Back in February 2022, the British Isles were hit by three consecutive storms, some of the strongest seen in decades. In the days before the storms arrived, my friends and I decided to change the plan for our canoeing expedition whilst we were already on our drive up.

Instead of paddling the exposed lochs along Scotland’s west coast, we opted for a more sheltered location. A glen tucked away right in the heart of the highlands.

After eight years of working a full-time video job, I've recently given it up so that I can work independently as a freelance videographer. This also means that I can spend more time working on personal film projects!

I've got two videos in the works, with one coming very soon. I had overwhelming praise (and some criticism) after making the Last Wilderness of Scotland film back in 2020, and with your support, I've realised I need and should do more projects like that. Stay tuned!

I discovered this past weekend that my short film "The Last Wilderness of Scotland" made it onto the shortlist for this year's The Great Outdoors Readers Awards.

Across all the categories this year, some incredible people, places, and movements have been recognized for their outstanding work. If you've got a couple of minutes to spare, please head over and vote for your choices: www.surveymonkey.co.uk/r/TGOA...

I'm very grateful to the people that submitted the film, and to the people that helped me put it together in the first place. More projects coming very soon!
