7/4 213PM: A Severe Thunderstorm Watch is in effect until 10 PM for the southeastern half of the Texas Panhandle and parts of West Texas.

Strong to severe storms are already underway north of Muleshoe and near Canyon. These storms are not moving much right now, so localized heavy rain may become an issue where storms sit for a while.

Additional storms may develop this afternoon and evening. Damaging winds, large hail, dangerous lightning, and heavy rain are possible.

Stay weather-aware and move indoors if storms approach.

7/2 353PM: Scattered storms are ongoing in a few parts of Texas this afternoon, but most folks are hot and dry.

The most concentrated activity is in the Trans-Pecos and Big Bend, where heavy rain and lightning may cause localized flooding issues in hilly terrain.
A few isolated storms are also ongoing in West Texas.

Popup storms continue across South Texas, the Coastal Plains, Southeast Texas, the Golden Triangle, and into the Ark-La-Tex. These may produce brief downpours, gusty winds, and lightning before fading out. They're slowly moving north.
