I’ve been playing in this tournament since 2014 and it’s been a long time dream of mine to play in two divisions, and enjoy the entire USAV Adult Nationals experience. Thank you Morrill Middle School for inviting me to speak at your Career Day! It was such a great experience getting to know some of your staff (especially as a former Teacher myself!), interacting with the students, and inspiring them to start thinking about what careers they want to explore. I wanted to remind the students that it’s okay if they don’t know what to do with school, career, and life. It takes time and effort to figure those things out. Just make sure to start exploring those questions and experiment with different interests to learn more about yourself.

It’s crazy to think that “Content Creator” is now considered an official career, and I’m so blessed to be able to do volleyball for a living 🙏. I tried to emphasize that regardless of what career they end up considering, remember these 3 principles;
1. FIGHT HARD FOR WHAT YOU WANT - The only two things you can control in life is your attitude and work ethic, so don’t expect anything to be given to you
2. EXPERIMENT AND EVOLVE - Don’t be afraid to try new things, and challenge yourself in new ways
3. FIND A MENTOR OR ROLE MODEL - You are not alone; there’s someone out there who has a similar background as you, who has accomplished the goals you wish to achieve, so follow their blueprint and build yourself from there

Thank you Morrill for providing us with breakfast, lunch, and goodie bags! The Career Day also turned into an impromptu Meet & Greet with autographs, photos, and conversations, which was such a fun surprise 😃 Special thanks to Kevin for being a great campus guide and taking care of me today, and Ms. Mina for allowing me to use your classroom and keeping your kids in check!
