After years of teaching, service, and more projects than I can count, I’m stepping away from my institution for one full year. With sabbatical approval (at half-pay!), I’ll finally have space to write, research, and reflect—without the teaching load.

This isn’t a vacation. We’ve planned for six years: saved money, rented our home furnished, and packed just one carry-on each. My husband is retiring early to join me.

We’re calling it The Sabbatical Effect—an inquiry into what becomes possible when you pause. I’ll be learning from teachers in 10+ countries, writing a personal book, and questioning what’s truly necessary.
