💥A BELIEF I HAD TO CHANGE ABOUT DISCERNING WHO TO MARRY

As a woman who has walked this road myself, and now as a coach and mentor to ladies on the same journey, I’ve learned that choosing who to marry requires both prayer and discernment.

I used to think discerning who to marry was only about praying and asking God to show me who the person is.

And I still believe God can show you the person. He can lead you, speak to you, and confirm.

But I’ve also learned that God can teach you how to recognize the person.

That means learning to ask:

Who am I? What do I need? What life am I building? Who fits the woman I am becoming?

It means learning to recognize character, notice patterns, ask the right questions, seek wise counsel, understand God’s Word, and discern compatibility.

Because God can show you the person, but He can also teach you how to recognize him.

So your prayer should not only be:

"Lord, show me the man You have for me.”

But also:

“Lord, teach me how to recognize him when You bring him to me.”

Both matter. 🤍

And this is why I created How to Discern the One book and Masterclass.

I created it because I know what it feels like to desire God’s direction and voice, while also having questions about how to actually discern well. And through my own journey and years of mentoring ladies, I’ve seen how much clarity ladies need when navigating relationships and making this life-changing decision.

Many things I love to do, BUT I genuinely love to coach, mentor and teach. 🥰

One of my highlight moments this week has been the one-on-ones I have had with the ladies I am personally walking with.

I love the “aha!” light-bulb moments. 🥰
I love seeing their eyes beam with hope.
I love seeing them receive strategy and know what to do next.
I love the brainstorming sessions.
I love hearing them talk about their transformation as we look back at the sessions we have had.
I love seeing the clarity that comes.

I love seeing them make better decisions, create better plans, grow in confidence and start to live fully.

I love seeing them grow, do the work and eventually receive the results they have been seeking. I love seeing results..

And I especially love how different every session is because every lady has her own unique needs, desires and journey.

I love, love it. 🥰

For now, nothing quite tops this feeling. 🥰

I love that they leave feeling seen, supported and clear on what to do next for the outcomes they desire.

You cannot clearly Discern the One God has for you with a cluttered heart.

Comparison, pride, perfectionism, the need to control etc, all cloud judgment. They create expectations no one can meet. They make it hard to see a person for who they really are.

Before you can discern if he is the one, you need to deal with yourself first.

It's only a clear heart that sees and discerns clearly.
