I usually stick to my page genre but I wanted to update you on my senior cat 🐈‍⬛🖤 It's not the update I wanted to share, but with the love and support you showed, I felt like you deserved to know that he peacefully passed away yesterday. 🌈 This is a long post, so sorry in advance, but I need to talk about him, because he was a special boy 🙂 I also want to give some advice if you're in the same situation as I was.

I wrote about him last year on how his health was declining but I was doing whatever I could to make him comfortable. Having a senior animal with health issues means inconvenience, extra time and money spent on them, baths and products and medicines that make sure they're comfortable.

I couldn't just roll into bed when I was tired at night because he needed that extra care and attention. And rushing to work was a real thing because he may have had an accident that I needed to clean up in the morning. But I don't regret a single thing I've done for him. He was living his first life, too, and we ALL will need extra care as we age, if we're lucky enough to have long lives. My baby came first, and I'd do it all over again.

This handsome boy lived a long life, and he was loved, spoiled and babied until the very end. It still hurts and I'll forever miss him. Euthanasia is a scary thought for us who love our animals, but when it comes to the end of life and they're not feeling well, it is the kindest thing to do for them, one last gift we can offer, and that's a peaceful passing. We were there with him, and I hope you're able to be there for yours if you have to make that decision as well.

After nearly 2 decades, he felt like a permanent resident in the house. I still look for him even though he's gone. His bed is still right next to my chair. I still expect to hear him meow or see his lil head pop up when I walk into the room. I appreciate all the support and advice for his care. Hug your cat or dog or any animal you have for me, please ❤️ I am adding a photo of him from before he got sick, back when he could jump around wherever wanted and that's how I'll remember him 🐈‍⬛ Thank you, once again.
