Welcome to the Digital Aloha YouTube channel!
During the second year of the pandemic (2021) I started this YouTube channel, originally named Digital Aloha Tech Tips, where I create video tutorials mainly on services and applications that one can run on a Synology NAS.
Since then the channel has steadily grown and many of the comments I receive are that my video tutorials are very comprehensive and complete, helping viewers get past issues in their setup.
Going forward I’ll continue to release comprehensive tutorials covering Synology NASs and I welcome you to check to my videos, as well as subscribe to the channel if the videos are helpful. I'm also looking to expand into complimentary niches, such as Synology routers, cloud services and other NAS brands.

In my latest video I go through the steps of setting up VLANs on a TP-Link TL-SG108E Smart Switch and connect it to a Synology 6600ax router that is set up with VLANs as well.
Setting up a TP-Link TL-SG108E Smart Switch is really simple and I recommend the switch if you need additional ports that are VLAN capable.

Building off of my previous video on "How to Replace a Failed Drive in your Synology NAS" I replaced the second hard drive in my Synology DS718+ to expand the capacity of the storage pool in the NAS. Check it out!!
FYI, this procedure only works with RAID configurations, specifically SHR, SHR-2, RAID 1, RAID 5, RAID 6, RAID 10, or RAID F1. Please check out Synology's KB on replacing a drive in Storage Manager, specifically the "Before You Start" section for prerequisites. The link is listed below. Sorry for not mentioning that in the video.
