RUSSELL BRAND TRIAL – DAY ONE: WHAT HAPPENED IN COURT TODAY?

Russell Brand appeared at Southwark Crown Court in London today (Monday, 12 October), as his trial officially got underway.

Brand arrived shortly before 9am, accompanied by his wife, Laura Gallacher, and made no comment to the waiting media.

Today's proceedings focused on jury selection, with 50 prospective jurors questioned about their previous exposure to media coverage concerning Brand.

Six potential jurors were dismissed after indicating that they remembered the 2023 Channel 4 documentary or newspaper reporting about the allegations.

The jury selection process is expected to continue tomorrow, with the prosecution scheduled to begin presenting its case on Wednesday.

With jury selection likely to continue into tomorrow, the first video I'll be releasing will be on Wednesday evening, when the prosecution is due to open its case.

If you missed yesterday's video discussing the allegations against Russell Brand, you can watch it here: https://youtu.be/eIrPqp4K3PU

See you on Wednesday for a full update!
