Discovery Center Museum is a nationally recognized children's science museum located in Rockford, Illinois - approximately 1 hour west of Chicago. It inspires playful learning and discovery through hands-on experiences. Many of the videos relate to science activities children can do at home with simple materials. The museum boasts more than 250 exciting hands-on exhibits relating to simple machines, power and electricity, the human body, math, color and light, air and flight, the science of sports, the science of agriculture, and more. Out in the museum's backyard, visitors can explore Rock River Discovery Park, a giant, multi-level science park with a hands-on twist! The museum also hosts traveling exhibits, special events, classes, summer camps, and teacher workshops throughout the year. The primary audience is children ages 2-12 and their families as well as school and camp groups.
