Methane gas in cattle breath and manure has a higher greenhouse effect than carbon dioxide, and is one of the causes of global warming. On the other hand, this methane can also be utilized as biomass energy through appropriate treatment.

<The MEXT Scholarship: IGP Special Quota> is a special scholarship for those who wish to apply for the International Graduate Program (IGP) supported by Japanese government. Students eligible for this program are limited to those who hope to undertake the Transdisciplinary Life Science Course, Biosystems Science Course, or Division of Soft Matter with the Graduate School of Life Science, Hokkaido University in Sapporo, JAPAN.
Interested students should find a laboratory that matches your research goals and contact prospective supervisors to discuss their suitability ASAP. After a professor agrees to sponsor a student, application documents should be submitted to the supervisor, who will be subsequently submit to the IGP administration office by December 20, 2024.
