My dear ones — I honestly don't know what else to call everyone who has gathered here in our international community, After Heated Rivalry!

I thank you all from the bottom of my heart — for your comments, for your deep, honest, personal stories, your feelings, your emotions, your love, and your kindness. You are the ones who make this space so warm and so special🫂❤️‍🔥

I want you to look deeper — past the surface — into the meanings and values I try to share with you. And I want you to believe that absolutely everything in this life can be changed, as long as we are still breathing. The most important thing is to dare to make those changes.

This is not a fandom in the usual sense. We are all adequate, grown-up people here, who understand that we are exploring the universe of Ilya and Shane, their love story. We openly share the changes happening in our own lives thanks to their story. This story, this project — we're creating it together, my dear ones.

This is a space where you can be yourself, without fear of being overlooked, unnoticed, unheard. A space where every soul deserves attention.
A place where a person can finally rest inside the universe of Shane and Ilya's love story. Just rest from all the noise of existence. Relax. A place where no one has to prove their worth to anyone — because you are valuable by nature, from the very beginning.

My name is Januaria Wright. I'm a writer, researcher, psychologist, screenwriter, director, art activist, creative director, and actress. And yes — a living person who reads all your comments and replies to them 😉 Because it matters. It's vital for the book and the documentary After Heated Rivalry, which I'm working on right now, in the US and in Russia.

In our community comments, I've already been called ChatGPT, AI, and also unprofessional — someone who doesn't understand what she's writing about (that was about my expert analysis of Hudson's and Connor's personalities in our community posts).
Well, I get it. Everyone who said those things spoke from their own inner pain, for different reasons. More and more, I feel like the therapist Galina in our community 😅 (a nod to The Long Game).

And yes, my native language is Russian. I think, write, and speak freely in it. And yes — I'm still vulnerable when it comes to English, which I'm studying.

The After Heated Rivalry project is incredibly important to me, because it's tied to my personal story. 3.5 years ago, I tragically lost the man I loved right before our wedding. He was brutally murdered when he tried to help save his close friend and that friend's family from war.
For three years, I wrote letters every single day to the soul of my beloved man — the one I spoke with in dreams. I went through severe clinical depression. I lost 80% of my health. I had to learn how to walk and talk again. I lost all my savings and my home. Because for six months, my beloved was held hostage, and every day they extorted money from me to keep him alive. I refused to live. I prayed for only one thing: to die in my sleep. Even though I have a wonderful 20-year-old son. I begged God to take me to Him. To stop feeling. Because the pain in my body and in my soul was unbearable.

And at some point, doctors and psychotherapists became powerless to help me. I was left alone — with God and with myself. That's where my story of returning to myself began. Through countless heavy trials, I learned to forgive, to preserve my humanity, my kindness, the greatness and strength of Spirit, my loyalty to myself and my creative potential. And love. That very same love which is the real "super glue" that holds everything together in this world.

I receive a huge number of letters every day — stories of how life has changed after Heated Rivalry — from women and men (which I didn't expect) all over the world: the Canada, USA, France, Korea, Russia, Italy, the Netherlands, Bulgaria... The list goes on. But that's not the point.

Heated Rivalry has become a cultural phenomenon. People will be pulling it apart, molecule by molecule, for a long time. The emotional impact of Heated Rivalry turned out to be so powerful and all-encompassing that it couldn't be ignored. Because the love story of Shane and Ilya — two hockey players — didn't just stay a story.

Two snake tattoos: one on Hudson's elbow, one on Connor's ankle. A coincidence? I don't think so. God had fantastic plans for those "two snakes to reunite" in the series. First, He created the novel that Rachel Reid wrote. Then God created the Heated Rivalry series, which Jacob Tierney brilliantly adapted and brought to the screen. And so, those two snakes crawled to each other. They became best friends, the closest of friends in real life. And they became that rare thing — the love story between Shane and Ilya that continues to live inside people, subtly transforming their inner world long after the story ended.

I want this, and I see this as my mission: for as many people across the world — especially women — to find their healing through Shane and Ilya's love story, just as I did. For them to always believe in love, no matter their age, gender, culture, or faith. To believe that they can be happy again and again — in relationships, in marriage. Even if there's that painful experience behind them, the one they sometimes don't want to remember. Or the opposite — the one they wish they could go back and fix. Live in the present — that's the only thing I ask of you. We don't have that much time on this planet to suffer from "deferred life syndrome."
