Brace yourself for the non-magical yet equally transformative world of Gwendolyn "G" R. Houston-Jack, a.k.a. BlackPowerBunny. Gwendolyn is not just a name; it's a beacon of authenticity inviting you to a soiree where the wine flows as freely as the conversation. Imagine clinking glasses of Chardonnay while discussing the finesse of a vintage piece of fashion or unraveling the secrets to balancing family, self-care, and dreams over a hearty laugh. That's the essence of my world.

My content is like a well-curated closet—everything has its place, and negativity is out of style. Here, you'll savor the rich tapestry of life's experiences woven with threads of empowerment and enlightenment. There's "Small Biz Bites," where I feature small business owners and creatives. There's also "Guuuuurl...Listen," where I tackle women's issues with a dash of sass. From self-love to societal taboos, nothing is off the table.

Fashion is more than just brand names and labels. I don't even want to start a conversation about style, but I will speak about the importance of accessories.

Use accessories to elevate your basics: gloves, scarves, or a signature bag moment.. Just one piece can completely change your outfit.

Can we talk about delegation, real quick? There was a time when I figured it was faster if I “just did it myself.” I know you all know what I’m talking about. Then I learned very soon after the joy of delegating tasks to others. Beautiful music is created when you share the load with others. The same holds true for caregiving.

Caregivers often carry invisible labor that no one else sees. This challenge is to help you acknowledge your limits with honesty instead of pushing through. The Monday Message challenge today is to delegate one task you usually handle alone…even if it feels easier to do it yourself. Not only are you teaching others to participate in the care ecosystem, but you’re teaching them not just to receive from it. And you also deserve support as much as you give it.

Spent the past week cleaning out my phone and WOWZA! There is some stuff in there. Goodness gracious.

Figured I'd share one of my favorite outfits: DVF yellow/black/white romper paired with the Dooney & Bourke Ostrich double zip wristlet in black.

Please don't believe that those with melanin don't need to protect the skin. The Sun doesn't discriminate. Everyone and everything is affected by UVA and UVB rays. SPF matters for deeper skin tones, too. Be sure to choose formulas that avoid the gray cast.

I'm always on the hunt for a protector that wears well on my skin. I don't want to look gray or ashy. And I definitely want to be protected. What’s your SPF struggle?

Recently on my disconnect from tech I decided to clean up a few digital spaces. I came across this image and I immediately remembered why I kept it.

Self care doesn't have to be a fleeting trend. It can be your genuine lifestyle. And it can be done gently with the same compassion, care and patience you show everyone else.

You should absolutely be on your caregiver list, and that’s why today’s Monday Message challenge is about returning to self. The idea isn’t to make these self-rituals cumbersome; they need to be easy and doable. Today we’re creating a 5 minute “return to self” ritual.

Stretch. Step outside. Sip water slowly. Place your hand on your heart. Do whatever brings you back to center and anchors you in the present moment. Caregiving pulls your energy outward all day. This ritual brings it back home.

Just remember: your needs matter too.

My doctor told me to reduce my wine drinking, fried food, sugar...pretty much anything that brings me joy. Clearly, water is always a must. And fiber is good to keep the body regular. I added Metamucil to my diet about two years ago, soooo...

Hydration + fiber is your hormone-friendly duo. Start with one extra glass today.
