Most people will stop when they realise that their fantasies about how it should work, how quickly it should go, and how often they should try, turn out to be wrong.

And few people eliminate the should and continue going till they get it. These are the ones that the fantasy people then create new fantasies about how easy it must have been for them.

It is naive to think that what feels natural to you is an indication of what you should be doing. What feels natural is given by your past, your experiences, your beliefs, frames of reference, assumptions, and frequently exercised patterns.

People say, “But that feels right to me,” as if that means it is the right thing to do. All that is actually said in a statement like that is that whatever they justify doing feels familiar and therefore “natural”.

When things have to feel natural for you to do them, you are always bound to your past and never free to reinvent your life. Which I would argue is the natural human ability. To practice the art of reinvention.
