I can hardly believe it myself! But when @crochet_by_a_manda_lorian1522 asked me to design a wall hanging for her romantasy themed crochet book, I couldn't resist - especially with a morally gray theme 🩶🩶🩶
This is such a beautiful collection of unique patterns (and the book itself is gorgeous 🤩) and I'm so excited to finally share!
Would you believe these tiny pumpkins are made with random little crocheted rectangles? They also include my favorite finishing touch for crocheted pumpkins: cinnamon stick stems!
I'm adding these little cuties to my my wreath today!
To make your own: I crocheted a various number of rows consisting of 10 to 18 stitches, using hdc in the blo for the ribbed look. (Wider rectangle = taller pumpkin, and taller rectangle = wider pumpkin) I sewed the top and bottom of the rectangle together to create a cynlinder, then sewed and cinched closed one side of the cylinder to become the bottom on the pumpkin. I added some stuffing and a cinnamon stick, and cinched the top together around the cinnamon. Then I sewed vertical "grooves" around the outside of the pumpkin to help with shaping. (I used worsted weight yarn and a g hook to make sure the stuffing wouldn't be peeking through the stitches.)
Aside from the polymer clay teeth, she's fully freehanded crochet, sewn in place on a foam wreath ring. While the foam cracked during our move, she's sewn tightly enough to hold it all together - She's as tough as her inspiration!
This baby is one of a kind, though I may recreate her as a larger version in the future 🖤 (No crochet pattern this time, sorry!)
