RE:TV was founded in 2020 by the then Prince of Wales, His Majesty King Charles III. Inspired by The King’s long-standing commitment to nature, we provide a platform for the growing community of change-makers whose inventiveness and energy is creating a brighter future for people and planet.
As our founder put it when he launched RE:TV in 2020; "there is real hope, but we've got to come together as a world on this."

Can 2.5 billion seeds safeguard the future of life on Earth? 🌱
Alexandre Antonelli is the Executive Director of Science at @kewgardens. In our most recent Guest Editor series, he talks to us about the Millennium Seed Bank (MSB) as we celebrate its 25th anniversary.
Though originally created as an insurance policy against future species extinctions, the MSB has become an active programme to restore ecosystems around the world.
The MSB doesn't just sow seeds of hope for the future – it tackles climate change and biodiversity loss now.
Read our newest guest article to learn more about the programme that Sir David Attenborough has deemed “perhaps the most significant conservation initiative ever.”

What percentage of materials in the global economy currently come from recycled sources?
In a circular economy, the ‘take-make-waste' paradigm is replaced by a system where materials aren't discarded after use. Instead, they are reclaimed and repurposed into new resources or returned to the Earth 🌏
Do you know how circular our systems currently are? Test your knowledge below 👇

There is no waste in the natural world. Instead, organic substances break down into nutrients that support life 🍂
This process has been honed over 3.8 billion years of evolution. Could it also teach us how to handle modern problems like fashion waste?
To Amanda Sturgeon, the answer is a resounding yes. Amanda is CEO of Biomimicry Institute – an organisation that draws inspiration from nature to design a better future. She's also kicking off our new Guest Editor series.
Decomposition may evoke images of rotting food, but its benefits are far more attractive. Amanda joins us to shine a light on its true potential.

Have you ever seen rubbish on the runway?
Last month, we spoke with @AquafilGroup – the company behind @ECONYL regenerated nylon. This innovative material is made entirely of waste.
ECONYL is fashioned from fishing nets, fabric scraps, carpet flooring, and industrial plastic, just to name a few. Many leading brands like @stellamccartney incorporate it into their designs.
RE:TV worked remotely with a local film crew in Slovenia to capture CEO Giulio Bonazzi's insights. We look forward to sharing them with you soon.

But the world's biodiversity is under threat.

Can you guess where these photos were taken? 🗺️
In preparation for our fashion campaign next month, we recently met with a biomaterials company who are working to connect the production of responsible materials for the textile industry to the restoration of wetlands.
Wetlands are one of the most biodiverse habitats and they exist all over the world, with 60% of them located in Asia and North America. But where did our shoot take place?
Was it...
CANADA
ENGLAND
ROMANIA or
FRANCE?

Can innovative product design help us build a better food system?
In 2023, Ellen MacArthur Foundation launched The Big Food Redesign Challenge in partnership with Sustainable Food Trust. This prompted producers, retailers, start-ups and suppliers to design new food products – or redesign existing ones – to regenerate nature.
Here are five businesses that stepped up to the plate. Scroll to see the principles of a circular economy in action ➡️
This month at RE:TV, we’re unpacking the topic of food waste. Visit our RE:thinking Food hub to discover insights, case studies and cutting-edge approaches from industry leaders across the value chain: www.re-tv.org/topics/food
