I’ll be doing a video on this shortly, but I was thinking some things over and I decided, screw it: 2027 I’m doing both a Star Wars retrospective AND one for the original Harry Potter movies. I don’t care what anyone says; I love both series dearly and for their 50th and 30th (for the latter’s original books) anniversaries, I want to do something to show my love for them. And yes, for HP, I WILL be putting a donation link for a pro-trans charity for anyone who wants to donate any amount of charity to them if it makes you feel any better. None of my videos are monetized anyway, so it’s fine by me.
BUT FIRST…..which retrospective series do you want me to make first? Vote in the poll below!
So apparently Diaz Station’s return video/ JAR rant got removed off YouTube. He claims some troll is responsible but I dunno. Perhaps YouTube finally is starting to wise up to his bullshit.
So Diaz didn’t reply to the now-deleted video. I’m just gonna assume he at least hasn’t seen any of these newer damn remakes and he’s just bullshitting to his followers for easy clicks.
So you know what? Fuck him. He’s not worth it. I just wish guys like SolaireRay55 would realize that and leave me the fuck alone.
I really hope this post is the end of all this. I’m tired of talking about a-holes on this site. I wanna make more positive content.
Hot take: I’d rather go to bat for Hazbin Hotel and Helluva Boss than say anything good about Rick and Morty anymore. Far, FAR less cynicism and far more likable characters.

It has come to my attention that that solairerays55 guy who briefly tried to comment on one of my last posts before I deleted and went to Zaid/Diaz on his newest video, and well…….according to one of my buddies on BlueSky, this is what he told him after I blocked him:
“There’s nothing to be confused by Steve Kidd is only admitting that The Rise of Skywalker left him with a good feeling, thus acknowledging that he’s a crazy. Hell, I tried asking him why it’s apparently exhausting to hear people criticize an awful film, and he accuses me of being unhinged. Like sure, don’t ask questions, just consume product.”
Boy howdy where do I start? First of all, I blocked this guy’s ass from commenting because he WAS acting unhinged. In that the guy was acting very passive-aggressive in how he was asking me why I like The Rise of Skywalker. It was very suspicious behavior, and while I knew for sure it wasn’t Zaid using another sock puppet account (this guy had videos on his channel) the guy was clearly one of his fans or something. This is starting to turn into Lilly Orchard behavior in trying to send cronies to attack people.
Secondly, where the hell did I say anything about the movie left me with a good feeling or anything like that? I haven’t even addressed my thoughts on it at all due to planning a video retrospective series and here this douchebag is making up shit and calling me crazy to discredit me. Motherfucker, you’re literally white knighting a crazy user who threatens people who make movies he doesn’t like, encourages vandalism over them (destroying dvds in a store will get you arrested), and attacks and harasses smaller YouTubers over being called out on his own bad behavior and over-the too harsh views on media. But if you really want an answer why it’s exhausting? Here it is: it’s 2025. The damn thing came out nearly 6 years ago in December yet certain people act like it or other movies or celebs or whatever killed your family and raped your dog. And said people, Zaid/Diaz included, never seem to know when to shut the fuck up about them and move on with their lives. And quality has nothing to do with it; it’s a smokescreen. Anything these alt-right pricks hate that has women leads, POC, LGBTQ stuff, or anything that fucking sets them off for whatever stupid reason lives rent-free in their heads and all they want to do is spread their hatred about it for attention. Zaid/Diaz clearly fell down that rabbit hole at some point and whatever mental issues he has exacerbated it. GET A FUCKING LIFE, DUDE. It’s just a goddamn movie, not the end of the world. You want a solid defense of that movie? CinemaWins did a 2-part video detailing what he liked about it and I can easily say his take closely mirrors my own actual thoughts on the ROS. I’ll link them at the end of this post. And yes, he enjoyed all 3 sequel trilogy films. SUCK IT.
I’m getting sick and tired of this shit. Part of me really wants to do another vlog directed at Zaid/Diaz, but TCR discouraged me not to and I value his advice. Between his newest stuff and now his fans trying to join in the harassment and smearing, it’s like Zaid WANTS me to make that video. The fucker’s not getting the satisfaction. I haven’t even been visiting his channel or watched any of his stuff! I only know about this stuff from people DMing me. I’m trying to go about my day and enjoy myself and not having to worry about current politics. I don’t need some insane alt-right shithead and crap excuse for a critic harassing me and smearing me over petty bullshit!
I just want to clarify my stance on stuff like Rise of Skywalker, Dial of Destiny, Wish, Callisto Protocol, etc; stuff that some people hated but I didn’t. I’m not going into full detail on Rise of Skywalker or the SW sequels in general, as I want to save the brunt of my takes for if and when I do that retrospective.
However, I will sum things up as this, in the most level-headed rational manner:
My issue is not that “people hated it but I didn’t so wtf?” That would make me no better than Zaid/Diaz Station. My actual issue is that all this hate over that particular stuff just feels……overblown. Like the reactions from Zaid and other people online on stuff like this and some of the “lesser” MCU stuff (sans Secret Invasion, that was shit) just comes off like people acting like it’s the apocalypse because they didn’t like something or they did something to hurt them personally……when really for a good chunk of this stuff isn’t that bad or just decent. It’s ok to just call something “ok” or plain “fine”. It doesn’t have to be either solely “the greatest thing ever” or “fucking shit”. There’s far more of an actual critical range for media and I feel a lot of people online have forgotten this. You can still like or not like something, but you don’t have to be screaming or threatening violence or making obscene comments over it. When I try to call out bad movies, I try to be constructive and analytical towards them and why they don’t work for me. The “louder” people on here, Zaid included, just seem to either nitpick the shit out of everything and not focus on actual issues or just straight up make up lies at times (the entirety of Lilly Orchard’s Steven Universe video comes to mind for the later). And that’s what I have a problem with: for certain things, it seems like some people sacrificed actually using their brains for cheap-ass sensationalism, blind hate and even bigotry, all for the sake of cheap clicks on their YouTube or social media posts. And again, I don’t care how much you hate something: suggesting you destroy physical copies of something in a store or threaten violence toward people involved in making it doesn’t aid your opinion at all; it just harms it and kills your integrity.
There. There’s my reasoning. And it’s my opinion, not a goddamn fact. They are not the same thing, Zaid. You can disagree with my stances all you want. Just don’t be an asshole about it.
P.S. I thought the Snow White remake was ok, and Rachel Zeigler was the best thing about it (Gal Gadot, however, cannot fucking sing and she was VERY NOTICEABLY autotuned at points; her song was good lyrically but her singing wasn’t). Leave the girl alone. Also, the CG on the “dwarves” (they aren’t even called that in this oddly) is not as bad as people say. It’s just eh; what else were they gonna look like? You want actual bad CGI? Expendables 4, Spawn or the Scorpion King from The Mummy Returns are right there. “Obvious CG” is not the exact same as “bad Cg”. 6/10.
