The man that rescues dogs

Blackie, the dog who was hit by a car and left paralyzed, does not need his back legs amputated at this time. He has healed better than we expected, which is great news.
He is now neutered, fully vaccinated, and has moved into our Care Unit where he has joined the Wheelchair Mafia. With his custom fit wheelchair, he is already out on morning walks with the group, and we will add afternoon walks as he continues to build strength.
Blackie is incredibly friendly and has adjusted very well to his new life.

🧡 In an effort to control the stray dog population, TMTRD actively rescues, medicates, vaccinates, and spays & neuters the dogs in our care -- but we can’t do it alone. With your help, we can do better 🧡

The man that rescues dogs

Labeled aggressive. Left behind without a second chance.

A pitbull girl, around 5 years old, was left on the roadside in our responsible area. Some locals shared she once had an owner, but they couldn’t control her, especially around other dogs.
After several incidents, she was abandoned. Until our local municipality partners stepped in and brought her to us.

Now she is safe. Her health is stable, she has been spayed, and vaccinations will begin soon. For now, we are giving her time and space to settle. With people, she is gentle, trusting, and full of love.

Her story is not new. Like MaKham, once owned, then left behind.
No dog deserves to be left behind. Take the time to truly understand them, their needs, their nature. Because when they become family… you don’t walk away.

Her name is Cherry

Dog Rescued With Heartworm And Congestive Heart Failure

We were alerted to a dog in need of help at a local market not far from our sanctuary. Her belly was massively swollen, a clear sign that something was very wrong and needed urgent attention.
At our clinic, after x rays, ultrasounds, and blood tests, she was diagnosed with congestive heart failure caused by heartworm, along with a blood parasite. The heart failure had caused a dangerous buildup of fluid in her abdomen, making it difficult for her to breathe and for her body to function properly.
Our team drained 2400 ml of fluid from her abdomen to relieve the pressure. We will continue to monitor her closely, repeat the procedure as needed, and treat all of her underlying conditions.
It is a very serious case, but now she has a chance.

Her name is Lily.

Songkran may be over… but Thailand’s heat is still intense ☀️🐾

This kind of weather can be risky.
Dogs can get heatstroke much faster than we think… sometimes in just minutes.

Please keep an eye on them.
Fresh water should always be available, with a shaded place to rest.
Try to avoid walks during the hottest part of the day.

Watch for signs like heavy panting, drooling, weakness, vomiting, or if they seem unusually quiet.

If it happens, don’t panic.
Move them to a cool, well ventilated area right away.
Use a damp cloth to gently wipe their body, especially the belly, armpits, and paws.
You can also let them sip small amounts of water.

And if they don’t improve, please get them to a vet as soon as possible.

Sometimes it’s the small things that save them 🤍

Pond, the dog we saved from drowning, is still admitted at our clinic while receiving treatment for a blood parasite and ongoing wound care.
After recovering from exhaustion, he has more energy and a healthy appetite. He’s friendly with people and is adjusting well to being in our care.
We are very familiar with the dogs in our area, so when a new dog appears close to our sanctuary and is comfortable around people, it often means they were dumped.
Pond is safe now, and that is what matters most.

The man that rescues dogs

Ten years ago we rescued Narak who was abandoned after she became sick with distemper.
She survived because she’s a fighter and was rescued in time, but the virus had already affected her brain and central nervous system. It changed the way she moves, giving her that unforgettable little “dance” when she walks. For people seeing distemper survivors for the first time, it can be surprising.
But Narak has never let that define her.
She is playful, full of personality, and still loves all the things she has always loved, digging holes, swimming, singing, and spending time with her dog friends. She has built a beautiful life here with us.

And now, Narak has done something extra special. She was recently featured in the movie Gohan. We are incredibly proud of her, and so happy the world gets to see her sweet face. #Gohanthemovie #โกฮังหัวใจโกโฮม

Freckles, the dog from our feeding route who needed a leg amputation due to cancer, has made a full recovery and has been returned to the area he calls home, just near our sanctuary.
We’ve been feeding him and his friends for over six years, so we’ll continue seeing him every day on our route and keeping a close eye on him.
He’s the best boy, and situations like this remind us how important our feeding routes are in caring for and monitoring the dogs in our community.

If you are able, donate. Share. Remind someone we are here and still fighting for them.

Your support means everything.

The man that rescues dogs

We’re super excited to share that some of our very own residents at The Man That Rescues Dogs Foundation recently traded shelter life for a movie set! They were cast as extras in the upcoming film “Gohan” (โกฮัง..หัวใจโกโฮม) @gohanthemovie

The movie tells the story of Gohan, a stray dog with a pink nose, as he journeys through ten years and three different owners searching for the meaning of “home.”

Seeing our dogs, who once lived on the streets, standing tall as “actors” is something we never imagined!. They’ve gone from wandering the streets of Thailand to being part of a major cinematic production! 🌟

A massive thank you to the production company GDH559 and the directors Baz Poonpiriya, Moo Chayanop, and Atta Hemwadee for including our rescues in this project and for telling a story that hits so close to home for us.

Mark your calendars! Gohan hits theaters on April 2nd. Go see if you can spot our famous four-legged stars! 🐕✨

The man that rescues dogs

A box was left at our gate, with a short note asking for help.

Inside were five newborn puppies, just a few days old. Someone had left them there, three males and two females, all already in very fragile condition.

They arrived weak and malnourished, their small bodies heavily infested with fleas. All were suffering from skin infections, with inflamed, pus-filled wounds caused by external parasites.

One male puppy had a severely infected umbilical cord, with tissue necrosis beneath the skin. Two of the female puppies were also in critical condition, with infections and maggots present in their genital areas. Our team began immediate care, including wound cleaning, parasite removal, and intensive supportive treatment.

Despite our efforts, one boy and one girl have passed away.

The remaining three are still under close care, and we are doing everything we can to help them pull through.

We have named them Gohan, Gohome, and Namcha.

The man that rescues dogs

These eight motherless pups, Orange, Yellow, Green, Blue, Purple, Pink, Gold, and Silver, were rescued along our feeding route around Halloween last year. We call them the Color Pup Gang.
Today, they’re all spayed, neutered, vaccinated, and have moved into Shelter 12, one of our newest areas that’s home to many younger dogs. They’ve settled in beautifully, made lots of new friends, and are enjoying their new space.
Each one of them would be a wonderful addition to a loving home.

If you’re in Thailand and would like to adopt any of these pups, please send us a message.
