The Aravali Mountain Range is one of the oldest range of mountain ranges in northwestern India (Bharat), It was there even before Bharatvarsha.

* It stretches about 670 km starting from Delhi, passing through southern Haryana and Rajasthan and ending in Ahemdabad, Gujarat.

* The highest peak is Guru Shikhar in Mount Abu, Rajasthan, which is about 1700 meters high.

* It was there during Indus Valley Civilization.

* It is also known as Green Wall of India.

Rishis and ancient texts revered the Aravalli Hills as sacred, viewing them as a natural shield, source of life-giving herbs (like at Dhosi Hill for Chyawanprash), and a spiritual haven, with mentions in Puranas and Mahabharata; modern interpretations echo this, seeing them as vital for water, climate, and biodiversity, highlighting their role against desertification and the need for protection from mining, a sentiment supported by recent legal & ecological calls to action.

Ecological Importance (Modern Perspective)
Natural Barrier: The Aravallis act as a crucial shield, preventing the Thar Desert from spreading into the fertile Indo-Gangetic plains.
Water Security: They are vital for groundwater recharge, feeding rivers like the Sabarmati, Chambal, and Luni, sustaining agriculture and life.
Climate Regulator: The hills protect the Delhi-NCR region from dust storms, regulate microclimates, and support biodiversity, making them essential for air quality and climate resilience.

Modern Context & Calls for Protection
Threats: Despite their importance, mining, deforestation, and development threaten the Aravallis, leading to ecological damage, water scarcity, and habitat loss.
"Save Aravalli" Movement: Current movements, supported by legal interventions, advocate for protecting the range as a vital natural heritage, emphasizing sustainable development over destructive practices.
In essence, the thoughts of Rishis viewed the Aravallis as divine, life-sustaining land, a sentiment echoed today as a call to preserve them as India's indispensable green shield for future generations.

Save aravali otherwise The while India would suffer, otherwise the whole world would suffer.

Why we are becoming so spineless today that we lost our vision, don't we know that Maa Amrita Devi had sacrificed for a forest and here we will lose whole ecosystem of India due to some Money mongering vultures, I know my words are hitting to heart, buy with due respect we don't want any kind of development on the death of our forests, on the souls of our beloved wildlife and on the grave of our heritage "THE ARAVALLI MOUNTAINS"
