About Angie Birmingham

Angie, an award-winning photographer, fell in love with the great outdoors as a teenager, right after her family moved to the breathtaking landscapes of Lake Tahoe. What started as a passion for landscape photography soon expanded—especially after years of snapping pictures of birds. Turns out, she’s not just a photographer; she’s a certified bird nerd, too!

In fact, Angie got so intrigued by all the feathered friends she encountered that, in January 2021, she started counting species. Fast forward to April 2024, and she’s proudly racked up 350 different types of birds (and possibly an eagle-eye to match).

With a diploma from the New York Institute of Photography and a Master’s from PPA (Professional Photographers of America), Angie knows her stuff. But it’s not just about the accolades—she’s also passionate about giving back. That’s why she founded Sharp Shooter Foto, a nonprofit that provides kids with photography classes free. Thanks to donations, these young shutterbugs get top-tier gear and exclusive access to stunning locations where they can capture nature in all its glory.

Alongside teaching youth, Angie also holds photography classes across Texas, and her horizons are expanding to include Alaska and the Yellowstone area. Oh, and keep an eye out—she’s got an upcoming night photography class at a private ranch in Big Bend. We’re talking a 40,000-acre ranch with a historical house as your basecamp.
