Mr. Awesome
It kinda weird to think about where I was in 2021 and am now. I started this in 2021 and it's now over four and a half years old, and I haven't touched this channel for much of anything for 9 months. Tell me that on a Saturday in 2022 when my plan was to stream 2 or 3 times that day and I'd never have believed it. I know WAY MORE about NASCAR now than I did in 2022 when I picked up an old copy of NASCAR Heat 3 and streamed myself playing it, I don't play much Fortnite anymore, my skills at making edits are much refined, and I'm not really the same person I was 5 years ago. With the new NASCAR '25 game alongside a couple of other things, all I'm saying is that the possibility of return exists. Never rule it out.

Mr. Awesome 2023 in review:
It wasn't necessarily a walk in the park this year as it had been in the years prior. Especially towards the end of the year, I found myself not motivated to make anything or not making videos to the quality that I had imagined them to be. I feel like if I'd been more "in the groove" then we'd be in a much different situation right now than we are. But we weren't, and we are, so let's talk about our year.
December 31st, 2022: 160 total channel subscribers
December 31st, 2023: 323 total channel subscribers
This sees us with a net gain of +163 subscribers in the whole year, or close to a 100% growth throughout the year. Most of these came from shorts.
December 31st, 2022: ~27,000 channel views
December 31st, 2023: ~111,000 channel views
We have a net gain in this category of about 85,000 channel views on the year, giving us a little bit more than 400% than what we had last year. 90% or more of these views came from my YouTube Shorts.
Looking in on the things that we did right, we finally found our groove in the types of videos to make. You guys are a NASCAR Shorts group of people, and that has worked. As a matter of fact, my top short currently has ~11,700 total views, and it's a short I posted this year which regards NASCAR. At one point, on top of our achievements this year, we added the fact that there were thousands of weekly viewers tuning in to watch me, and 90% or more were actually newbies rather than long time viewers. We passed 100,000 channel views, a number which may not be in the place I'd like it to be, but is welcome. Around then, I thought that things couldn't get any better. I think I hit that prediction pretty nicely.
The last two or three months of this channel, however, turned out to be historic epic fails. We basically stopped making streams and videos, and the ones we did make were ridden with mistakes and bad vibes, which prevented us from posting even more. Weekly and monthly viewership tanked. In the last 28 days, we had a yearlong low 2,000 views. We had only 2,000 clicks the whole month. That's abysmal. And it isn't the fault of you guys. I take the blame, as quality, personality, and quantity have all taken a hit and there aren't any major benefits coming from it. I don't really know how I allowed such to happen. However, 2024 is gonna come, so I have a plan to begin a rebuild in my growth.
It's no secret that 2024 needs to be BIG. More responsibilities are coming for me as I add more to my plate, so YouTube needs to make itself worth the time it requires, or I may find that it is not worth it. I told you that I have a planto make sure it is, and I didn't lie. The first part is to research what's popular. I need to know the sounds and trends that bring clicks, because more clicks is more watch hours and subscribers. Secondly, I can't walk aimlessly through 2024 with no goal to guide me to success. We're coming up on our three year anniversary of YouTube, and I know we're not where we should be. I want to achieve an ambitious 1,000 subscribers and 500,000 channel views this year, which sounds outlandish, but it should. I want to make sure I have a goal that I don't run through in March. If such a can be achieved, I may schedule a face reveal or something of the nature to reward my loyal viewers. Finally, we need to take the ruts as they come. This year, when I was down, I just stopped. Now, I need to keep going. Fix any problems that come up in real life and expand the education, but keep some focus on making sure we grow the following to unreal numbers. If I can achieve these things, your 2024 might be one with a little more... Me.
FINAL SHORT OF THE YEAR COMES OUT AT 5:00PM EST!

Best NASCAR Tracks on the 2023 Schedule:
1. Bristol. Has two "configurations" and great racing on both. It has great, prestigious racing on concrete and fun racing on dirt. It produces the best racing, and is simply the best in the business.
2. Talladega. Of the three plate tracks, Talladega is easily the best. It doesn't have constant straight line racing like Daytona and the start finish coming after the tri-oval make for thrilling finishes.
3. Daytona. It produces brilliant racing like Talladega, but there are some boring races at Daytona and the danger is a whole lot higher. But, the prestige and the superspeedway racing at night makes it P3.
4. Martinsville. It was bad in 2022, but other than that, it produces OG Bristol vibes. Bump and run action from start to finish makes Martinsville Speedway one of the best venues. Only negative is that the spring race isn't nearly as good as the playoff race, but the playoff race carries.
5. Charlotte. Roval is epic, and the oval is epic. It produces thrilling upsets and legendary moments, legendary racing and hall of fame winners. It doesn't pop like the tracks above it, but it's great.
6. Kansas. It's Charlotte, but minus the Roval and the prestige.
7. Darlington. It produces memorable moments, winners, and hall of famers. The track is tricky and requires the best racers. Both races have something to them. One is throwback, and the other is the prestigious Southern 500. The racing isn't as good as the the tracks above it, though.
8. Watkins Glen. The Next Gen doesn't do great there, but overall, it has brilliant racing and moments to remember.
9. Atlanta. The old track was one to remember, and the new track is getting to a point where it's gonna be just as good as the old configuration. Plus, there are plenty of good moments in the history of Atlanta Motor Speedway.
10. Auto Club. It didn't have the prestige like Darlington, Charlotte, Daytona, or Martinsville, and it didn't always produce the racing that Bristol, Kansas, or Talladega did, and it certainly didn't give the moments like Atlanta, The Glen, or Daytona, but when it hit right, it hit RIGHT. There was three and four wide racing everywhere. There were unforgettable moments. It was very situational, but sometimes, it was great.

Race day at Cherokee yesterday was AWESOME! 33 cars showed up for 26 spots in hopes of $10,000, including ROSS CHASTAIN! I even got a picture with the Melon Man! In the end, he missed the feature, but it might've been for the better anyway. There were multiple red flag crashes, including a flip on the backstretch, causing the race to finish with about 11 cars running. In the end, tires, wrecks, and risk taking got Ross Bailes the win over Trent Ivey & a hard-charging Jeff Smith. All in all, great day with a chaotic race.

Mr. Awesome
Everyone, I have an announcement.
After all of the events in Sonoma tonight, I've decided to make Sonoma happen on Friday and Kansas on Saturday. Also, a 13th spot in the Playoffs will be created and given to Trevor Bayne. This is because he won, and me being the idiot I am, I deleted the footage thinking that the rules weren't correct. So yeah. Stupidity strikes again.
