Hello ladies & gentlemen! 👋 I hope that you are all doing very well & are having a wonderful week?

Before I proceed with my plans and ambitions for the rest of 2026 & into 2027, I’m always very appreciative and grateful for all your support ever since I started this venture a couple of years ago. That’s why I never, ever take anything for granted. That’s why I always love to say a very personal thank you to everyone who has subscribed, watched the videos and commented on them. It’s a delight to hear from you good folks. ❤️

If you’ve been reading my community posts from this year alone, I’m sure that you’re aware that 2026 hasn’t been a very good or kind year for me. For many different reasons, I haven’t been able to create and release as many videos as I would have wanted to. I feel sad about that because I feel that in some ways, I’m letting you folks down. Also, I really would loved to have showcased many more wonderful locations that can be discovered in my home county of Shropshire here in the UK. But as I’m sure you’ll know, I haven’t been able to do that.

My mother’s health is one reason why I haven’t been able to create many videos. Unfortunately, there have been times this year where she has felt unwell. However, she doesn’t have anyone else to rely on for help or to care for her when she does feel ill. She only has me. So, I’ve been taking time to care for my mother as well as my younger sister (who has learning disabilities). I’m more than happy to pause production for a little while to help look after my family. Thankfully, in more recent times, my mother has been feeling a lot better which I’m extremely thankful for. My family mean a lot to me as well because I don’t have many people in my life. I always make sure that I do everything that I possibly can for my family.

Also, I’ve been having a difficult time this year with my mental health. There have been moments where I’ve struggled to cope with my anxiety & depression, because it has felt like the world was literally pressing on my shoulders. At times, I’ve been finding life very hard to cope with because of all the dark & difficult moments I’ve had this year away from filming. There have been moments this year where I’ve had some bad panic attacks, which are horrible! It’s something I wouldn’t wish for anyone to suffer. As a result of this happening more frequently, it’s opened my eyes a little bit more. I’ve been debating for a while whether continuing with this walking tour channel is a good idea. I feel that it would almost be impossible to travel to places further afield from my home because of my anxiety & the panic attacks.

In more recent times, I haven’t been able to film much again for a couple of reasons. The first is with regarding to the anxiety side of things which has affected my sleep. There are a lot of nights where I’m not able to sleep at all, which can affect my mentality and motivation for going out to create more videos. The second reason is that I’ve had some of my equipment fail on me. My monitor stopped working, which meant I couldn’t edit any videos or photographs. So, I’ve had to get another PC monitor. And then, just before I started writing this post, one of my DSLR lenses failed. So, guess what? I’ve had to get another replacement.

Good luck and fortune are something that’s been missing in 2026. As a result, I have been thinking more & more about what I would like to do with this YouTube video going into the future.

Unless my circumstances change and if I’m able to cope better with my mental health, any plans for travelling further away from my home will for now will have to be postponed. If one day, I’m able to explore further, then that would be great. This is one reason why I want to keep my channel name as “Dan’s Walking Tours UK” in case this idea comes into fruition. However, because of my mental health struggles as well as my family (who mean the world to me), I want to focus on creating Walking Tour & ASMR videos around my home county here in the UK, which is Shropshire. I love Shropshire!! ❤️ There is so much to see here. So many places that I haven’t shown you yet & that I haven’t been to before.

My plan for this channel is to concentrate solely on Shropshire. Because some of the videos I’ve created are coming to be at least 2 years old now, I feel that it’s time for a fresh update and re-record places like Ironbridge, Shrewsbury, Much Wenlock and much more. But don’t worry though! I have new locations that I want to record next year, which include Craven Arms, Wem, Market Drayton, Hopton Castle, Snailbeach and Ludlow.

Because I have been a bit sparse on videos this year, I want to start concentrating for next year (2027). As a result, the rest of this year is going to be spent on recording some new videos for 2027. Including this last location, I have around 2 more videos for release in 2026, which I’ll spread out throughout the rest of this year. There was going to be 3 videos, but unfortunately, I was enduring many issues during the recording of the 3rd video. I've had to scrap that one.
The reason why the 3rd went wrong is because of my current recording gear, which I've grown very tired of now to be honest. It's takes anywhere from 15-30 minutes to setup and I'm always enduring technical or audio issues every time I attempt to record a walking tour or ASMR walking video. As a result, there won't be any more new recordings for the time being. I've decided to retire my current setup early and I'm looking to purchase some new recording gear which will be much easier to setup and will function much more smoothly (I hope). I'll update you folks as to what the new equipment will be and will compared it to the old setup.

At this moment in time, I’m not 100% sure at this moment whether there will be a Christmas Walking video this year, but I’ll try my best and will keep you folks informed about that.

The aim for 2027 is to try and upload videos more regularly, either every week or every fortnight. At this moment, I’m currently planning out the schedule for video releases next year.

One last thing I would like to share is with regarding to the photographs I’ve captured of every location I’ve visited so far & will be heading too very soon. To be honest, I really hate social media. Instagram, X, Tik Tok, Facebook and many other similar platforms, I absolutely despise. I’ve tried sharing photographs on Instagram, but I don’t like the aspect ratio of pictures you can only upload, the low-resolution quality of the images and the fact that all social media platforms these days are about influencers sharing “hyped” video content as well as spreading manipulative, toxic, hateful posts! Social media is one of the things I really don’t like about today’s society. As a result, I’ve stopped posting on Instagram and will never post on there again! Instead, this probably won’t happen until sometime in 2027, but I would love to create a website where I can share my photographs with you all instead. I will keep you all informed as to when that will happen.

Relating to photographs is another crazy ambition which I would love to achieve. Something which I’ve taken a real keen interest in recently is photography books. Whether it’s on landscapes or architecture, I have purchased a couple of books recently and have loved looking at other photographer’s works to see how they capture a location for their creative works. The good books I’ve read & would recommend are:

1) Edinburgh: An Architectural Portrait by James Reid
2) Hebrides by Peter May
3) England Observed by John Gay

I’m sure to collect more but these are 3 fascinating photo books with some stunning pictures within. Anyway, the reason why I mentioned this is because I’ve had a mad idea. If I’m able to improve my photography & editing skills, I would absolutely love to create a photo book of my own, based on the places that I’ve visited during my Walking Tour & ASMR videos in Shropshire. At this present moment, I’m editing some of my old photographs to see if they’re worthy of being in a book. If not, then that provides me with a good excuse to venture out and capture some more. Again, like the website, this idea is in the very early stages. However, if a photo book is something you’d be interested in, please feel free to let me know by commenting below.

I think that’s everything that I wanted to share with you folks. Sorry that this has been a long post. I feel that it’s important that I wanted to share my plans for the rest of this year and into 2027 & beyond because you folks enjoy the content I create, and I appreciate your kindness & support. I hope that you will understand the changes I’ve made going forward. Even though my plans for the rest of the UK are on hold, there will be so much content from Shropshire for you to enjoy. The channel won’t be disappearing anytime soon!

Hello fellow travellers! 👋 I hope that you are all doing very well & are having a wonderful week?

I'm sorry it's been a little while since I've released a video here on the channel. It's been a little longer than I had planned, but I will definitely explain everything in our next community post very soon!

Anyway, this Friday, we will have our latest video release around possibly the most stunning woodland that I have visited to date. It's a location where in the early 15th century, King Henry IV's armies gathered when they marched from Worcester during the Battle of Shrewsbury in 1403.

Today, Haughmond Hill is owned and maintained by Forestry England and is a stunning hiking location, which is also unique for being situated next to an active quarry. During our walk, we will trek around most of the paths around Haughmond Hill. We'll be starting by the entrance car park and finishing off at the Toposcope view point. Also, we'll be getting some absolutely spectacular views of the surrounding Shropshire & Welsh countryside and mountains.

Firstly, I would like to thank those of you who were kind to have replied to my previous community posts about my absence & why I haven't been able to post any videos recently. I'm very appreciative and thankful for your understanding & kindness. Really meant a lot! ❤️

But I still would like to apologise for not being able to post any videos. However, the good news is, after 2 months away, WE ARE BACK!! 🥳 This Friday, we have a brand new Walking Tour video around the North Shropshire town of Whitchurch. It's a historic market town which has a strong history in clock making and cheese production too. Don't worry! This won't be a cheesy tour (excuse the bad pun! 😂).

Our video around the town of Whitchurch will be released this Friday (28th August 2026) at 6:30pm UK time.

Hello Ladies & Gentlemen.👋 I hope that you're all doing very well on this fine Friday?

Firstly and most importantly, I would like to say a big thank you to those who commented in my last community post a few weeks ago! How has it been that long already?🤪Anyway, it was very nice to receive words of comfort and encouragement from those who took the time to write. It really meant a lot because as I'm sure you know, 2026 hasn't been the best year for myself (personally) with my ongoing struggles with mental health and recently with my mother's health.

Thankfully, even though she continues to struggle with arthritis in both knees everyday, she is feeling much better now compared to how she was a few weeks ago.

Also, I feel a little more upbeat about life and the prospects of continuing with the channel which I know you folks enjoy and I really appreciate all of your support so far.

Because things have improved in recent times, I'm delighted to declare that since my last community post, I have been venturing out and about once again to record more videos of the UK. So far, I've completed 2 recordings with a Walking Tour of Whitchurch and an ASMR Walk around Haughmond Hill (a beautiful woodland near the town of Shrewsbury). My plan at this current time is to try to record another 2 or 3 videos before I edit & release all of them right here on the channel.

If all goes according to plan, I hope to be releasing more videos again sometime this August. But I will be sure to keep you folks up to date as soon as I possibly can.

In the meantime, whilst I'm still out and about recording videos, I have recently started to post my photographs of every place I've visited on the channel to date. Hello folks.👋 I hope that you're all doing very well?

As you can tell by the image attached to this YouTube post, unfortunately, there won't be any new videos this week. Before I give an explanation as to why, you folks have my sincerest apologies for not providing you with any brand new videos.

Unfortunately, 2026 hasn't been a very good year for myself. I haven't been able to be as productive as I would ideally like to have been. Behind the camera lens, my mental health has taken a bit of a hit. I've been struggling this year to cope with my anxiety & depression. I'm trying my hardest to cope, but it has been extremely challenging. As a result, it’s been difficult to find the motivation to venture out to every location that I have been able to create so far in 2026.

This week alone, I had a bad panic attack whilst I was travelling to one of my destinations for filming. It's not the first time this has happened, but it's always really frightening when these attacks happen.

That's the first thing. The second is that my Mother has recently injured herself and suffering a bit with her own mental health. I haven't been able to travel anywhere to film many new videos because I've been looking after my Mom as well as my youngest sister (who has learning disabilities). Thankfully, my mother is already feeling a lot better, but she's not quite back to 100% yet.

I am hoping that once everything has returned to some kind of normality, and if I'm able to cope better with my mental health struggles, I will be able to venture out and about once more to record more destinations in the UK for you folks to see. I don't have a timeline as to when I will be returning with any new videos, but I will keep you all informed. But the important thing is that I will be back. Don't you worry! I will be out and about once more to create new videos & I will try to return as soon as I possibly can.

I hope that you folks will understand, especially with the challenges I've been facing throughout 2026 so far. I'm sorry that I'm not able to provide anymore new videos at this time. I'm still very thankful for your support. It's been amazing to share this venture with you. Thank you to everyone who has subscribed and who have commented on the videos I've created so far. It really means a lot!

Happy Friday everyone. 👋😁 I hope that you're all doing very well?

Here are a few photographs I've been able to capture of Granville Country Park. If any of you folks haven't seen our latest video yet, Granville Park is a relatively unknown nature reserve in which is situated in the modern day town of Telford (Shropshire). However, during the late 18th & 19th centuries, the park was once a thriving area during the industrial revolution. Whilst strolling through the park today, some of the industrial history remains with the ruins of Old Lodge Furnaces and an old winding house. It really is a fascinating & beautiful place to have a gentle and peaceful walk amongst the greenery and the countryside.

It’s that time once more with another brand new video on Dan’s Walking Tours UK. This time around, we will be completing my trilogy series on the absolutely stunning Shropshire town of Shrewsbury.

In Part 3, we will be having a wonder around the town's magnificent park which is called "The Quarry." Deep within the park is a beautiful landscaped garden called "The Dingle", which was once a former stone quarry. Believe me folks, our latest walking tour is not to be missed.

Hello one & all! 👋😁 I hope that you are all doing very well?

It’s that time once more with another brand new video on Dan’s Walking Tours UK. This time around, we have an ASMR Countryside Walk. This particular walk was mentioned to me in my Walking Tour video of Much Wenlock by ‪@WhitewashTheThird‬ who used to live in the town. They informed me of a beautiful walkway which was used as an old railway line as well Gaskell Field, which is used for the local games that inspired the modern Olympic Games. So, in our latest walk, we’ll be discovering these as well as the location for the towns old railway station.

It’s a little bit overdue, but I thought it would be an idea to show you folks how beautiful this particular walk is.

Hello everyone! 👋I hope that you're all doing very well?

My sincerest apologies!! During the editing phase of my videos, I'm normally very thorough with my work. But this time around, I noticed after I released our latest creation around the Shropshire town of Oswestry that there was a couple of errors within it. So, I've decided to take the original video down immediately and sort out the mistakes.

I always try to make sure that I set the highest standards for myself & create the best quality that I possibly can, but I slipped up this time around. I'm very sorry about this folks. I have now completed corrected the errors I made in the original release and I shall reschedule the video for tomorrow (Sunday 26th April 2026) at 11am instead.
