This channel was born from a lifelong love of alternative rock and lyricism. I’ve carried notebooks filled with words, waiting for the day they would finally turn into songs. That day has come, and I’m grateful to share them with you and with anyone who connects to their spirit.
My name is Petar Jovanović. I write every lyric, shape each melody, and guide each track from the first spark to the final mix. Music has always been my way of giving voice to emotions that don’t fit into ordinary speech, turning silence into stories and restless energy into sound.
You can call me Petar or Matthew, a fictional persona I crafted to carry the voice and temperament of these songs. He is the vessel; I remain the hand behind the words and direction. Over time, many tracks have naturally grown into his character, yet each one still carries a part of me.

Hi guys, I need a rather unusual favor...
I’ve been sitting with a pen in my hand for over an hour, wanting to write a song, and then a strange feeling came over me. Something told me to make this post and ask you to share some moments from your own lives.
So… would anyone like to share with all of us some of the difficult times you’ve been through? I know this might sound like an unusual approach, but I feel like we’ve somehow built a little community here where people have started opening up about their feelings and life’s… well, struggles, I guess.
Anyway, if anyone feels like sharing their story, it would mean a lot to me as motivation for the next song. Please don’t get me wrong — it’s not that I lack inspiration, but I have this feeling that songs born from stories like these could touch the soul on a deeper level.
And if this turns out to be a silly idea, I’ll just delete the post.

Good morning, my dear ones.
I just want to say thank you — to everyone who's been following the Matthew’s Silent Chapter YouTube channel, and especially to those who’ve shared how certain songs have touched them. Save Yourself While There's Still Time seems to have struck a chord in ways I never expected.
Since I released that song, I’ve been getting the most beautiful comments — things I’m not really used to hearing. And I have to be honest… it’s been hard to write anything new. The love you’ve been giving me hit me like a wave I wasn’t ready for. Total creative shutdown. I’m still trying to process it.
When I started this channel, I was bracing myself for hate, criticism, indifference — but all I got from you was kindness, support, and encouragement. Look at the numbers: 193 likes. Zero dislikes. Zero. I still don’t know how that’s even real.
