An Admission of the Pattern of Political Harassment
"We knew where she was the night before, but we did not force the arrest warrant."
These words from Secretary Jonvic Remulla are like reinforcing documents we have long held regarding harassment and surveillance operations by the Philippine National Police and other government agencies against me.
For years, the administration's surveillance operations have been ongoing. A significant amount of government funds have been allocated for such activities against a sitting Vice President.
And since you know where I am, there is one important question you must answer—why do you need to go to my mother and children?
There is only one clear answer—to intimidate and silence my family.
The government funds should be used for the safety of the people—to punish and fight rapists, hitmen, terrorists, holduppers, thieves, and government officials who accept money from the people.
I want to clarify our position regarding the issue of jurisdiction by surrendering to the police, but I cannot because you cannot promise that I will be safe inside your custody. You cannot promise that I will not be harmed or abused while in your custody.
Above all, let us not forget the kidnapping of President Rodrigo Duterte by the Philippine National Police. And also the many other harassments by the police against civilians.
We do not trust you, Jonvic Remulla, and the police who follow a corrupt government led by Marcos.
