Nuclear powered car

In 1965, Soviet scientists released for testing the Volga Atom car with an atomic engine with a capacity of 320 horsepower (a lot for that time). The motor weighed 500 kilograms, so there were not 2 wheels in front, but 4. Such a car would not need refueling for a very long time. Tests have shown that Volga Atom travels 60,000 kilometers without filling stations. It turned out that after that the motor needs to be changed to a new one. But Soviet scientists corrected this problem, they created an engine with gas-phase fuel in the form of uranium hexafluoride instead of solid uranium, and the new version of the car drove 40 thousand kilometers without refueling. For refueling, it was now enough to pump a new supply of uranium hexafluoride into the cylinders and the car drove on.

When Khrushchev retired, the machines were dismantled, and research in this area ceased.

Hello Everyone, this is just an announcement that I am rebranding 3D Passion into a bigger project with a new name that I personally love - PANDORA LABS. This will reflect the things that I do and my projects much better as I am not only limited to 3D Modeling and 3D Printers nowadays.

Let me know what you guys think!

I am going to also start producing more mixed content for my YouTube channel with a lot of things that I do daily and fun projects!
