š„My toxic trait is Quitting hard things, so Iām on a 100-day quest to Quit Quitting š200k+ on IG (@beccyvincent) āļø therebeccavincent@gmail.com šMelbourne, AUS
NEXT WEEK Iāll be posting a video which exposes my 100-day Quitting Quitting Drawing journey! So many of yall have been curious about my process of how I went from NOOB to NOT BAD in just a couple of months, and so I wanted to make an in-depth video to help you out š«¶š¼
In that video Iāll explain my methods (including my MISTAKES and my top drawing resources) & my top tips (including what I felt was GAME CHANGING for my growth).
No video this week as Iām sure we are all busy & exhausted thanks to the various back to back events of this holiday seasonā¦ā¦ā¦.I know I amš®āšØš
HELLO QUITTING QUITTING GANGš¤ Itās incredible seeing so many of yall resonating with my art journey (going from noob to somewhat competent). THANK YOU FOR BEING HEREš«¶š¼
šš¼lmk what sorta videos youād like to see more of! I want this channel to be helpful and fun for YOU. So pls drop your requests down belowš„
šš¼what do you think of the latest video?š¤ i posted it yesterday and the topic is about how i transitioned away from my cushy Science job and into the entertainment industry as an actor! Would love to hear ur thoughts!
šš¼I just finished editing a video where I reveal my entire Quitting Quitting Drawing journey! So many of yall are asking about my process and what resources I used. All will be revealed in that video!! Stay tuned as it will be posted either next week or the week after x
In our hyper-capitalistic culture that often prioritises job titles, salaries, and net worth above all else, Iāve long tried to resist this mindsetā¦
I often find myself trying to shift dinner-party conversations away from āSo, what do you do?ā and toward āSo, what do you do in your spare time?ā
š¤āOneās hobbies reveal far more about a person than their profession!ā I would declare with no shortage of self-righteousness.
But then, one day, it hit meā¦I was a hypocrite. When your only āhobbiesā are GYM and CONSUMING CONTENT, you know you fāed upš
In my defence, Iām but a mere mortal battling the siren call of our screens. They don a veneer of comfort and connection, but quietly consume our souls and minds. The zombie apocalypse is already here, dear reader. You simply havenāt noticedā¦because youāre one of the undead.
100 days ago, I embarked on a personal quest that I named āQuitting Quitting.ā A quest to reclaim discomfort, creativity, discipline, and of course, the elusive āattention span.ā
As I reach the Day 100 finish line, I still catch myself entertaining those toxic, capitalistic-driven thoughts, such as
š§ āWhat was the point of learning to draw? How can I profit from this? Was this a PRODUCTIVE use of my time? And in a world where AI can generate hyper-realistic portraits in seconds, is this even the most PRODUCTIVE hobby I could have chosen? Should I have picked something more PROFITABLE, like coding?ā
And, unfortunately, my screen time is still embarrassingly high. It still takes real effort to set my phone aside, be still, and simply draw.
š«„Was this all for nothing?
I wonder whether content addiction can ever truly be undone without abandoning our smartphones and laptops altogether.
I suspect my next quest will be devoted to finding outš Iāll be documenting that journey on longform YouTube starting this weekš³I canāt wait to see you there
How are we all? We getting enough fibre and protein and sleep?š«¶š¼
Some exciting news: 1. I just finished editing the Day 100 of Quitting Quitting Drawing episode š±š±š±š± it will be posted later this week x
2. Starting NEXT WEEK, Iāll be posting regular LONGFORM YouTube videos!
canāt wait to continue sharing this journey with u all, and in the meantime, I recently visited some family in DUBAI, here r some pics from that tripš
šµšŖIām not that into cities, so we decided to do some camping in a Dubai conservation reserve (I canāt believe thereās so much beautiful, serene nature here bc I only ever see social media depict Dubai as full of Lamborghinis and infinity pools lmao)
š« Idk about you, but MY problem is that I want to be āgoodā at a lot of things, but i dont want to go through the phase of being ābadā which is so dumb because you NEED to first be bad at something in order to get good!!!
My 100 day Quitting Quitting challenge was my way of forcing myself to go through that initial phase of being ābadā
I needed to rewire my brain, to learn that discomfort is a GOOD sign. Bc if you keep pushing through it, one day you suddenly realise⦠hey⦠That discomfort is gone⦠And in its placeā¦ā¦.fun?????
And those feelings, my friend, are sooo satisfying and fulfilling!
šš¼If thereās something in your life you want to change Maybe itās getting fit, learning Mandarin, or playing guitar I highly recommend challenging yourself to do it every day for 100 days STRAIGHT
ā¼ļøYou DONT need to spend hours on it (I only practiced drawing for like ~10 min/day) The key is daily consistency, thatās what helps your brain connect those neural pathways the quickest!

HENCE!! š 50 days ago I started the Quitting Quitting challenge, where I commit to 100 days straight of singing & drawing (which are both skills Iād quit when I was little but *wish* I hadnāt)
šš¼if u want inspo to start working on that thing youāve been putting off or dreaming of, take this post as your sign!! Bc hereās what just 50 days of short daily practice can yield ššš
