Who was the greatest conqueror to ever live ?

1. Julius Caesar was a Roman military and political leader who significantly expanded the Roman Republic's territory through military conquests. Caesar was a true example of a statesman establishing his supremacy on the battlefield as well as a clever politician. He conquered Gaul (modern-day France) and expanded Roman control across present-day Italy, parts of Germany, Belgium, and Britain. He became a prominent figure in the Roman Republic and ultimately declared himself dictator transitioning the conversion of Roman Republic to Roman Empire.

2. Genghis Khan, the founder and emperor of the Mongol Empire led one of the most successful military campaigns in history. He conquered vast territories, including much of Central Asia, China, and parts of Eastern Europe. Although he was a late bloomer in terms of age (44) as to when he rose to power compared to other conquerors mentioned but he managed to conquer the most in terms of area. Genghis Khan's empire covered around 33 million square kilometres, making it the largest contiguous land empire ever established.

3. Alexander the Great was the only conqueror among these personalities mentioned who inherited the throne but he was also the youngest among them to conquer the world. He became king of a small kingdom in Macedonia at the age of 20 and until his death at the age of 32 his empire spanned across vast territories, from Greece to Egypt, Persia, and even parts of India. Caesar and Napoleon rose to prominent power in their 30s while Genghis rose to power in his 40s. It is very debatable what Alexander could have achieved had he lived a life as long as the other 3 conquerors mentioned.

4. Napoleon Bonaparte, the French military and political leader, rose to prominence during the French Revolution. He introduced the concept of the "Grand Army," which was highly disciplined and used rapid movement and precise coordination to achieve decisive victories. He expanded the French Empire through numerous military campaigns and established dominance over much of Western Europe. His victories included key regions such as Italy, Belgium, parts of Germany, the Netherlands, and Spain. Through military campaigns and alliances, he influenced political affairs in these conquered territories, establishing puppet governments or imposing French control directly.

Was Cleopatra White or Black ? 🤔

On one hand scholars argue that Cleopatra was white since she was born into the Ptolemaic dynasty which finds its root to Greece. Cleopatra's forefather Ptolemy, was a general of Alexander the Great and he started ruling Egypt after Alexander's death. Additionally scholars argue that Cleopatra was educated in Greek culture and language suggesting she identified with her Greek heritage rather than her Egyptian roots.

However there is another POV to the story. Historians also claim that she could have been black as depicted in the ancient artworks and sculptures of Cleopatra which portray her with dark skin and African features such as full lips and a broad nose. Moreover, a team of archaeologists working for a BBC documentary in 2009 found out the remains of Cleopatra's sister Arsinoe and according to the researchers the remains indicate that her mother as well as Cleopatra's mother was African. Therefore Cleopatra may have had mixed ancestry.
