I’m Cory Ames — telling the stories that make Texas wilder & wiser.
Each week I share Texas native-plant how-tos, garden tours, & short field-note films and interviews from across the Lone Star State. The goal is simple: practical help and hopeful stories that help you see where you live and care for it more deeply.

Exciting news!
I just launched a Patreon as another way to support the channel and get access to bonus resources.
If you’ve ever thought while watching one of my videos:
• “Where can I buy these plants you talk about?”
• “Which ones are deer resistant?”
• “What’s thriving in other Texans’ yards?”
…that’s exactly the kind of extras I’m sharing there: plant lists, additional guides, behind-the-scenes posts from my own projects, and more.
This is a soft launch (so you’re the first to know 👀), and I’ll be adding new resources and experimenting with what’s most useful for you .
👉 Check it out here: www.patreon.com/cw/CoryAmes
Thanks for all your support — the channel keeps growing, and this is one more way we can dig deeper into Texas Native Plants & ecology together.

Hey folks,
Big news! 🎉
You might've already noticed, but this channel is transitioning from the brand "Grow Ensemble" to being under my own name (Cory Ames).
By the way, nice to meet you! 👋
I've been a mostly solo creator for ~5 years, creating content around sustainable business. Lately, I have expanded into Texas native plants and permaculture.
I once had aspirations to build a media "brand," but I've come to find that was never the right fit for me.
Needless to say, it's made more sense now to make myself a little more "front-facing," even though I kind of already was. 🤪
I can share more on this transition if anyone's curious. I might do so in a future video.
In the meantime, you'll keep hearing from me here or you can keep up at coryames.com/.
Cheers,
-Cory
