Hello everyone! My name is Denise Soden. I am a wildlife watercolorist, educational content creator, and pigment nerd located in Salem, Oregon. I've been captivated by both art and animals since before I can remember. I began drawing as soon as I could hold a crayon and spent my second birthday at a local zoo where I would later become the education manager. I also spent much of my young adult life as a hobbyist photographer, and in 2013, I fulfilled my lifelong dream of traveling to Botswana to photograph the some of the most amazing animals that we share our planet with. I now take that love for wildlife and share it through watercolor as a full time artist and content creator.
In addition to YouTube, I create casual, real-time tutorials on Patreon and professional, detailed classes on Skillshare. I also have custom watercolor palettes available with Da Vinci Paint Co. located in the United States.

Do you feel that any commercial brands of watercolor are "too pigmented"? This is something I've heard a fair amount over the years, and I may have the opportunity to talk about it in an upcoming video.
