Hello again. Sorry I don't update very often here on YouTube. I'm still chipping away at my C-Moon animation. For those of you asking if it'll be done before the official airing in December, I can honestly say it probably wont. I didn't want to compromise on the quality by racing against the official production or anything. I'm now using this project as a way of improving my own animation skills so it's taken me much longer than I originally thought, haha. Sorry for constantly delaying it all the time but hopefully it'll be worth it when it's finally finished.
If you want more frequent updates, I post far more often on my Instagram and Twitter. Thanks for sticking around.
Hey everyone. Just letting you know I'm still alive. Things have taken longer than anticipated because the middle of the animation is extremely chaotic. Meaning there's basically constant movement in the character's hair and clothing for several minutes. With the official anime already announced, I'm trying to make my animation as fluid as possible. Thanks for sticking around. :)
Pucci feels the power of C-MOON.
| This shot was based on this panel. It ended up being around 25 individual frames with an additional 21 for all the little sweat droplets.
Aw, look. It's Pucci and baby C-Moon. | Here's my mockup Pucci key art design. I tried to recreate the style of the only other official Stone Ocean art we have so far.
I did this as practice but I'll likely use it in a future JoJo animation. As it stands, I have three Stone Ocean animations I'd like to make:
1.)The C-Moon Concept Animation (12-15 minutes) 2.) Pucci awakening Made in Heaven. (1-3 minutes) 3.) Emporio and Pucci standoff in the ocean. (2-4 minutes)
Thought I'd post a WIP for this shot that I have to keep coming back to. Obviously, I've got a lot more cleanup to do and the background to finish. Also, these are what my placeholder colors look like before the real ones are added later.
Here's a little bonus GIF unrelated to my C-Moon animation. I DIDN'T draw the line-art for this one. I only vectorized and colored it in. I then created a short animation with it for practice in After Effects. Only sharing because I'm happy with how it looks in motion.
Again, the original line-art was done by @GrandGuerrilla on Twitter and Instagram. You should really check out their stuff if you like exceptionally official looking JoJo anime art.
Here's how I typically lay out my storyboards to get a sense of timing. This is from a shot I've been putting off forever because animating is hard, haha. Anyway, fingers crossed for that official announcement on the 4th.
