Hey Artsy friends!

What a fun creative weekend. I got some R&F Drawing Oils sticks to play with the cold wax medium. Love them! Video coming Wednesday.

I made some B&W collage papers in Procreate and have been printing them with my laser printer to use in collage. So fun! I might also print them on copy paper to use on the Gelli plate.

I spent entirely too long assembling this office chair. Totally worth it. The seat on my old chair was hanging on with one screw. 🤣

I would love to see what you were working on this weekend. Drop a photo in the comments.

xoxo,

Trina

I spent today working on an updated version of my print shop. I plan to offer limited edition sets of prints each month.

I found a printer, Prodigi, that works with local printers worldwide to cut down on the cost and shipping times. Really excited about this!

I want to know what you all have been working on even if it’s a small thing like tidying up your space. Let’s chat in the comments. 😍

New Video Alert! 🎨✨

Ever wondered how to use soft pastels on a gel plate without making a total mess? In my latest video, I’m sharing a fun technique to create vibrant, transparent collage papers using Paul Rubens soft pastels, stencils, and Japanese Usugami rice paper!

We seal everything in with matte medium so your pastels won't smear, and then we build a complete mixed media piece using clear gesso, Lightwish pastels, and bold marker marks.

Check out the full process, and let me know in the comments what you’d like to see in next week’s video!😍

What if the secret to destroying your fear of a blank page isn't overthinking it's just ink, watercolor paper, and a laser print?

In my latest video, I’m taking on the "Blank Page" enemy using paper lithography to lay down instant, effortless background textures before building up layers with chine-collé, watercolors, and stencils.

If you’ve ever found yourself staring at a blank canvas paralyzed on where to start, this technique is a total game-changer for getting marks down fast without the pressure.

Ever tried melting your Neocolors instead of using them with water? 🖍️🔥

In today’s studio experiment, I’m putting Caran d'Ache Neocolor II water-soluble wax pastels to the test using heat. By melting them down, we get these rich, encaustic-like textures and soft, waxy layers without needing a full encaustic setup. Plus, because they're water-soluble, you can still come back in with a wet brush and lift or blend the melted pigment!

Have you ever used Neocolors for anything other than standard watercolor techniques? Let me know in the comments! 👇
