SCHMIGADOON is coming to Broadway next year! Now, I did make this SCHMIGADOON video, but I used that TV show as a springboard to talk about Musical Theatre Universes in general. 300,000 views for my breakdown of Wait For It! Also, seeing Leslie Odom Jr. back as Burr singing this song was so emotional for the way he perfectly portrays the theme of holding back and self-control meanwhile the music in the song is spiraling and echoing! Just a thrilling combination of actor and material that is undoubtedly why he won the Tony Award for this! Also why Lin still says "he was cooking" with this song. Last night I went down to see Leslie Odom Jr.'s return to HAMILTON on Broadway, and as I'm entering the theater, Ron Chernow was in line behind me. If you don't know, Ron wrote the book on Alexander Hamilton that Lin adapted into the musical. Of course, I had to tell him how cool it was to meet him and that I too am now becoming an author writing about HAMILTON (well, the musical, not the person)!
