Trujillo castle, about half an hour from Caceres, played a leading role in the last episode of Game of Thrones season 7 when Bronn prepares the defenses and then talks with Jaime as the Unsullied and Dothraki arrive outside King's Landing.
The structure of the castle is proof of it being an exclusively military fortress and not a residential alcazaba. It was refuge of Joanna of Castile during her disputes with Isabella I. The nearby city Trujillo is home to great discoverers as for example Francisco Pizarro, conquerer of Peru. So again I found a lot of parallels in real history to the narrative of Game of Thrones. Art imitates life...π
