Hello my beautiful DITD Community! 🌱✨

I just want to pause for a moment and say thank you — truly. Your love, encouragement, and steady presence over this past year (and especially while I was away) has meant more to me than you know.

Some of you kept watching, commenting, and cheering me on… and I even caught ⁨@MsSharon⁩ bravely wandering deep into my ancient video archives 😄📼 — commenting on some VERY VERY old videos! My dear friend, that tickled me to no end and reminded the algorithm that I am, in fact, alive, well, and still kicking dirt. Thank you!! 💃🌿

Now… here’s where I’d love your thoughts 👇

During the 35 days I was away, I was filming something very different. I documented my Mum’s tough-but-inspiring rehab journey after her double hip replacement — short, raw videos meant originally just for family and friends, to show her progress and help cheer her on (like the one I shared here).

Mum has given her blessing to move those videos from unlisted to public ❤️

So the question is…
👉 Would you like to see them?

They’re not urban homestead videos (which may cause the algorithm to raise an eyebrow 🤨), but they are real, hopeful, human, and quietly powerful.

To my Dear Youtube Friends, I’m finally popping back in after 34 days away—a whole month of being my mum’s personal care-aid, cheerleader, snack-fetcher, and occasional “motivational drill sergeant” while she recovered from her double hip replacement.

Now, here’s the wild part…
36 days ago, Mum had fully declared she was never getting up again. Nope. Done. Finished. No more walking for her.
Then—two days later—she woke up, changed her mind, and said, “Alright then, let’s do this.”

And she DID.

Over these past weeks I’ve filmed a whole collection of raw, beautiful, unpolished videos of Mum learning to walk again—transferring from bed to chair, taking her first steps with her stand-up walker, and proving herself tougher than a sourdough crust in winter. They’re unlisted for now… but who knows, maybe she’ll let me share them one day to encourage someone who needs a little “don’t you dare give up” boost.

And here’s the biggest twist of all…
Mum has decided she’s moving to the island with me!
Yep. We’re leveling up to a whole new adventure: multi-generational life, homestead edition.

Tomorrow marks Day 35 away from my home, my garden, my chickens, and my bread dough that is surely wondering where I went.
Tomorrow, Mum, our dear friend Liana, and I are finally flying home to start this new chapter together and continue her rehabilitation surrounded by ocean air, fresh baking, and probably a chicken trying to sneak into the kitchen.

I’m excited. Truly excited.
There are big changes ahead—good ones—and a whole lot of learning curves, laughter, and love waiting for us.

Thank you for being patient with me. I’ll be easing my way back into filming, baking bread, teaching voice, and tending the flock (the feathered one and the YouTube one).

Here’s to new beginnings, brave steps, and coming home.

To my dear YouTube Community,

Over the past couple of weeks, a few preloaded shorts have been popping up while I’ve been away—but those have now come to an end for the moment (the vault is empty!).

I’ve spent the last two weeks back in my hometown, caring for my Mum after her double hip replacement. She’s been living with pain for over five years, and though the surgery went well, recovery has been no small feat. She’s now relearning how to walk—one determined step at a time.

When I arrived, she had all but given up hope… but between my gentle encouragement, daily serenades, and the exciting news that I’m going to be a Gramma (she’s not missing that for anything!), a little spark came back into her eyes.

It’s going to be a long road of healing and rehabilitation, and with the help of my wonderful siblings and children, I’ll be staying on to help her continue this courageous journey.

For these two weeks, I’ve basically lived at the hospital—ten-hour days of cheering her on, loving her, singing to her, and learning the fine art of full-time caregiving. (The nurses keep trying to recruit me—I told them I’m already hired by Mum!)

So, for now, there won’t be much filming of my usual homesteading adventures or live chats. I’m busy wearing my new “Care-Aid Cap,” and it fits surprisingly well—like a dirty shirt, as they say!

Thank you all so much for your love, prayers, and support. I’ll be back when the time is right, and when I do, you might just see a new sidekick in the garden. Mum’s a gardener too, and I can’t wait to share the next season of adventures—with her by my side.
