👉 We use the Second Conditional to talk about imaginary or unreal situations (not real now).
✅ Structure:
If + past simple, would + base verb
🔹 Example 1:
If I had more time, I would learn English faster.
🔹 Example 2:
If I were rich, I would travel the world.
💡 Tip:
Use “were” instead of “was” with I / he / she (more correct in formal English).
📝 Practice:
Complete this sentence:
If I had a car, I would ________.

Difference Between “Since” and “For”
Many learners confuse these two words. Let’s make it simple 👇
✅ Use SINCE → for a starting point in time
👉 It tells when something started.
Structure:
Subject + has/have + verb (3rd form) + since + starting time
Examples:
• I have lived here since 2020.
• She has studied English since Monday.
• We have known each other since childhood.

In the sentence:
“We were informed that none of Imran Khan’s sisters would be allowed to be present.”
The modal “would” is used because the sentence is in reported speech and refers to a future action from a past point of view.
🔹 Why “would” is used
The main clause is in the past tense:
“We were informed…”
When we report something in the past about the future, we usually change:
will → would
So the original information was probably:
“None of Imran Khan’s sisters will be allowed to be present.”
When reported later:
“We were informed that none of Imran Khan’s sisters would be allowed…”
This is called backshifting in reported speech.

📘 English Mini Lesson | Entail vs Necessitate
Many learners confuse these two words. Let’s make them easy 👇
🔹 Entail
👉 means to involve something as a natural part
Example:
• This job entails working on weekends.
(Working weekends is part of the job)
🔹 Necessitate
👉 means to make something necessary / force it
Example:
• Heavy rain necessitated canceling the match.
(The rain forced the decision)
🧠 Easy trick to remember:
Entail = include / come with
Necessitate = force / make necessary
