Hey Everyone,
Im writing this to let you all know that Ive decided to take an extended break from uploading videos.
Why?
YouTube is fun and rewarding, but anyone who does it over the long haul will tell you that it's VERY hard to do professionally if you don't set up your work in a sustainable way...and while pursuing the passion I felt for sharing recipes and building this community, I never got around to that, and now Im overcooked.
This kind of burnout is weirdly common these days on YouTube. Im not sure if the platforms incentives drive creators crazy or if the idea of making videos for a living attracts people that are already kinda crazy in the first place. Either way, if you watch YouTube, you know the deal: creator builds audience with tons of effort, then creator maintains that audience with tons of effort, then creator makes burnout community post or video explaining why YouTube is hard.
So now Im taking a long break to figure out how to make work that Im proud of without becoming limp spaghetti in the process. I want to thank you for being here. I feel very lucky to have the opportunity to make recipes for a living. I will see you guys after a while, and I hope you're still here and interested when Im back...which will probably be in a month or two.
