Many times people start something..... A skill, gym, or anything at all and believe they can perform at the rate of their mentors or role models in that space.

Take for instance, A guy pays for a gym membership and he wants to start hitting the gym in 2026. He's mentally prepared, he has gotten all his gear and music playlist in order. Now he enters and instead of him to start with the basic sets and reps he goes all in with bench press of 3 sets and 30 reps each. He's going to break down, because he has obviously done more than his capacity. What his brain does is to tell him this thing is hard and his brain enters survival mode. So he quits

But imagine he started from press ups, sit ups, plank and the rest of those basic exercises and builds consistently..... you'll notice a huge difference.

Now we often lie to ourselves that we can perform at this rate even though we know that we are still beginners and we need to grow to that level we want to be and not to start at that level. Because if you start at the top, you'll eventually burnt out.
