I've got a new video ready, but I'm at the lake for the 4th of July and it's loading SLOWLY!!! It's about another 2 hours. 😭When it's ready, I hope you can use this link (as I will likely be asleep): https://youtu.be/Wg2RTuaU5mw

Hi, all. I hope you are enjoying your summer!

I was very excited to see that AncestryDNA's new "Matches by Cluster" tool was released today and will be rolled out over the next few weeks. Some people are already playing with it today, but sadly, I don't have access yet. I plan on making a video as soon as I do! (I might even make one earlier, since I know what to expect!) My understanding is that it currently clusters matches between 65 and 1300 cM, but later on we will have more control of these ranges.

Angie Bush made a post about it, which you can read here: www.ancestry.com/c/ancestry-blog/dna/dna-matches-b…

Please let me know if you have access. And what do you think of it?

šŸ” I’m making progress on the ā€œ3 Nancysā€ case from my latest video!
Turns out there may be 3 different William Points, all born in Kentucky around the same time. Now I’m trying to figure out if my husband’s William Points is really the son of Francis Points & Susanna Beach. It’s getting good!

If you missed the video, I walk through 4 tricky early census records where relationships aren’t listed — and they’re not what they seem!

šŸŽ‰ I’m back—and I’ve missed this!

It’s been a few months since I posted, but I’m so excited to be creating YouTube videos again. Most of my videos focus on DNA (and sometimes AI), but this week I’m diving into something just as important: figuring out relationships in the 1850–1870 census records—when no relationships were listed.

Because let’s be honest: you can’t tackle genealogy with DNA alone. Traditional records still hold so many clues—especially when we take the time to really analyze them.

In this new video, I share 4 real case studies—including a household with three women named Nancy—and walk through how I solved each mystery.

šŸ‘‰ Watch now and see if you can figure out the relationships before I reveal what I found!

Thank you for sticking with me! šŸ’™ More videos coming soon.

It has been almost four months since I recorded a YouTube video! Well, I just finished recording my next one—in a hotel room—and I hope to have it edited and posted by Monday! This one is about identifying unknown people in census records before relationships were stated. It was a lot of fun putting this together!

Thank you to those who continue to watch and support my channel. YouTube has a huge learning curve and a lot of work, but it's also incredibly fun and rewarding. And the best part is connecting with YOU!

I enjoyed playing with AI image generation last night and this morning. I'm using ChatGPT-4o's new image generator...WOW!!! My simple prompt: "Make an illustration of this in Lego style"

Please share if you give it a try!

And I am working on a new video, it's just taking some time. 😊
