A Strong Appeal for Better Healthcare Facilities at Sub District Hospital Pahalgam .

Despite the limited healthcare facilities available at Pahalgam Hospital, the people of Pahalgam always found hope during the annual Shri Amarnath Ji Yatra. Traditionally, the hospital served as the Yatra Base Camp Hospital, where some of the country and J&K's finest doctors were deployed. During this period, advanced medical equipment, essential medicines, and better healthcare facilities were made available, benefiting not only the pilgrims but also the local residents, especially the poor and underprivileged people of the region.
Unfortunately, this year the situation has changed. The Yatra Health Base Camp has been shifted to Chandanwari, where all the specialist doctors, medical machinery, and comprehensive healthcare arrangements have been established. As a result, the people of Pahalgam and adjacent areas have been deprived of the temporary healthcare improvements they previously received during the Yatra season.
The people of Pahalgam respectfully appeal to the Government to ensure that, at the very least during the Yatra period, specialist doctors, essential medical equipment, and adequate healthcare facilities are once again made available at Pahalgam Hospital so that local residents can also benefit.
Our hospital has been neglected for years. Although a 50-bedded hospital was sanctioned in 2019, construction only began in 2021. The project was scheduled for completion within two years, by August 2023. However, it is now July 2026, and the hospital remains incomplete, with the project already delayed by nearly three years. Sadly, no one knows how much longer it will take before the people of Pahalgam receive the healthcare infrastructure they were promised.
For the past five years, I have consistently raised my voice for this hospital. After helping secure its sanction in 2019, I have continued to demand that the project be completed without further delay. When I witnessed the lack of urgency from the State Government, I was compelled to write directly to the Hon'ble Prime Minister of India and Helath ministry regarding this hospital.
I am pleased to share that the Union Ministry of Health has officially responded, and a formal communication has been sent to the State Government directing that work on the hospital be expedited and the project be made functional at the earliest.
Our mission does not end there. We aspire to see Pahalgam Hospital granted National Status so that it can become a modern healthcare institution equipped with advanced medical facilities, specialist doctors, and quality treatment for every citizen. With determination, public support, and the blessings of Almighty Allah, we will continue this struggle until this dream becomes a reality.
I humbly request everyone to keep us in your prayers so that we may succeed in this noble mission.Ameen

Thank you.

Road Safety Cannot Wait....Urgent Need for Guardrails on Pahalgam's Hilly Roads.

Pahalgam is a mountainous region with roads that pass through steep and challenging terrain. Several roads, particularly the Aru Road, pose significant safety risks due to the absence of proper roadside safety guardrails. Except for one or two short stretches, there are virtually no guardrails from Upper Mandlana to Lower Aru Valley. Considering the steep slopes and heavy traffic on this route, safety barriers should have been installed along the entire stretch .Just as the Chandanwari Road is equipped with steel road safety guardrails, the same level of safety infrastructure should be ensured on all other hilly roads across the Pahalgam constituency. Every road deserves equal protection because every life matters.
The lack of guardrails has contributed to repeated road accidents over the years, resulting in tragic loss of lives and substantial property damage. This road remains one of the busiest in the region, with thousands of local commuters, tourists, and pilgrims using it regularly, yet essential safety infrastructure is still missing.
The situation is equally concerning on the Lidroo Road, another steep and hazardous route frequently used by local residents and school students. Last year, a tragic accident on this road claimed two lives, highlighting the urgent need for preventive safety measures.
Many other roads across the Pahalgam constituency face similar risks. The Public Works Department (PWD), Pahalgam, and BRO/Beacon should give immediate priority to installing road safety guardrails on all vulnerable stretches. This is not merely an infrastructure project,it is a matter of protecting human lives.
Unfortunately, while several non-essential works continue to receive attention, many critical public safety projects remain neglected. Road safety should never be treated as optional.
I sincerely hope that the concerned authorities will act without further delay and ensure that road safety guardrails are installed on all vulnerable roads across the Pahalgam constituency. It is the need of the hour to safeguard the lives and property of the people.

Thank you.

A Collective Failure, A Shared Responsibility 🌱

It is true that dumping garbage and damaging natural resources is a mistake mostly made by the local public. But at the same time, it is equally true that public representatives have failed in their responsibility by not creating awareness and not stopping such harmful practices.
If funds meant for rural sanitation were properly utilized, people would not be forced to throw waste into water bodies or other environmentally sensitive areas.
When we travel across our Pahalgam Constituency both sides dachnipora and khovripora, the reality is painful and impossible to ignore.Huge chanks of Litter, garbage dumps, and filth can be seen almost everywhere.
Yes, people are responsible for their actions but what steps have our local representatives, including MLAs and DDCs, taken to tackle this issue?
Unfortunately, none that are visible. Remaining silent spectators to such destruction is neither justified nor acceptable.
Our water bodies, pastures, forests, and natural resources are under serious threat. This was the time for leadership to educate the people, to provide proper waste management facilities, and to ensure that citizens are guided away from environmental destruction. Development does not mean neglecting nature; real development protects it.
Silence in the face of environmental damage is not neutrality it is failure. Awareness, facilities, and accountability must go hand in hand if we truly care about our land and our future.
Protect nature today, so it can protect us tomorrow. 🌍 🌲 🌺 🌹 🐟 🐻 🐅 🐆

Today, I had the opportunity to visit Overa, where I finally got a chance to see the historic Maharaja Bungalow, beautifully located along the Overa Nallah.
The place is truly breathtaking surrounded by a pristine environment, rich ecology, and natural serenity that reflects the untouched charm of our Himalayan landscape.
During this visit, I also had a pleasant and memorable meeting with three young friends Rauf Bhat, Tahir Ahmad Dar, and Waseem Jan Khanday all from Kullar Pahalgam.
Before this, I did not have much personal interaction with them, but they knew me well and expressed a deep sense of warmth, concern, and connection during our meeting.
I am truly grateful to all of them for this heartfelt gesture.
This bond and mutual understanding were formed today, and Insha’Allah, it will continue to grow stronger in the days to come.
We spent a good amount of time discussing various social and local issues. The interaction was thoughtful and enriching, and it genuinely felt good to connect and exchange ideas.
Moments like these remind us of the beauty of our land and the strength of meaningful human connections.
May Allah keep everyone safe and blessed. Ameen 🤲

Thank you.

There is a large and impressive amount of snow piled up in the courtyard of my house, on the rooftop, and all around the surroundings. Seeing this view feels beautiful, and I even wish there was so much snow that one would have to walk on top of it. Waking , enjoying and Sleeping in the snow has its own unique thrill, but when basic facilities like electricity, drinking water, and medical emergency services are not available, it becomes a bit difficult.
Otherwise, snowfall of this magnitude has a charm and enjoyment of its own. 😘 😘 😘

Thank you

Pahalgam’s Academic Triumph A Salute to Our Students Parents and Teachers.

Today, my heart feels truly happy. For the first time in a long while, I feel reassured that we are moving steadily in the right direction toward our collective goal.
However, an important reality demands our attention. When our students pass the Matric or 12th board examinations especially with positions and distinctions we often stop thinking seriously about their journey beyond that stage. This is something we must reflect upon deeply. We must not abandon their future at this crucial point. Instead, we must encourage them to move forward and pursue higher education and progress while simultaneously guiding our community along the path of development.
Yesterday, we reviewed the Matric examination results of Model Higher Secondary School Pahalgam. A total of 66 students appeared in the 10th class examination out of which 63 students passed. Among them 40 secured First Division and 19 achieved Distinction resulting in an impressive 95.44 percent success rate.
Similarly in the 12th class 71 students appeared in the examination. Out of these 70 students passed with 25 securing First Division and 38 achieving Distinction producing an exceptional 98.60 percent result.
These remarkable results clearly demonstrate that our students are hardworking disciplined and committed. Yet somewhere along the way we fail to carry this success forward and end up making critical mistakes. These mistakes often arise due to financial constraints early involvement in work or being drawn into tourism related activities. At this sensitive stage both students and parents sometimes make decisions that limit long term growth.
If students are guided properly and not stopped at this crucial juncture if they are encouraged to move ahead there is no doubt that the youth of our region can secure top positions in education government departments and the private sector. Our region’s climate and environment are highly conducive to learning. Our students are focused resilient and careful with resources and deeply inclined toward education.
It is also true that they face serious challenges including limited access to tuition facilities and shortages of teaching staff in schools. Despite these constraints our students put in their heart and soul to succeed. When they are clearly demanding examinations like Matric or 12th class it becomes our collective responsibility to ensure that neither they nor we become careless about their future.
This is my humble appeal to all students and their parents please do not distance your children from education. Whatever profession they choose tomorrow will carry far greater value dignity and impact if they are well educated.
Finally I extend my heartfelt congratulations to the entire staff of Model Higher Secondary School Pahalgam especially Principal Manzoor Sahib whose dedication and tireless efforts have not only brought pride to their institution but have also illuminated the name of the entire region. Such outstanding results will undoubtedly inspire hope confidence and motivation among students across the area.
We pray that this journey of success continues through colleges universities and competitive examinations and that the children of our region continue to excel. This is both my prayer and my heartfelt wish.

Thank you
