Little update on the Z06.

I’ve been grinding hard to get this car truly reliable again so I can ramp the vlogs back up and keep pushing the short films too. We spent all winter fixing the mess left by the last shop and trying to make sure this car is dependable for how I drive, safe for me and anyone in the car, and something I can trust to never fail “on set.”

And for a minute, it felt like we finally got there.

After Tyler tuned the car, it was a huge win. The car feels way better, noticeably faster, and just way more refined driving normally.

But now… new problem.

Some of you probably remember the slight clutch pedal sticking issue from a previous video. At the time it went away, so I hoped it was minor. Unfortunately, it’s now much worse.

The photo here is from me replacing the clutch master with the newly revised version with the black reservoir, hoping it was just the cheap/easy fix. No such luck. So now it’s most likely the clutch slave.

Makes sense though, the car is 17 years old, has over 50k miles, makes more power now, and has a lot more heat in the system than it used to. But as a lot of you know, the clutch slave is not a small job.

That leaves me with some decisions to make.

This car has fought me every step of the way, and I’d be lying if I said it hasn’t been frustrating. This is probably a job I’d have to trust a shop with, and after everything that happened before, I’ve got major PTSD even thinking about handing this car over again.

The crazy part is the car is so close to being exactly where I want it. If I do have a shop go in there, it would probably make sense to do it all at once: clutch, remote bleeder, billet release bearing, and possibly a torque tube rebuild while they’re in there.

So I figured I’d ask you guys..

If you’ve dealt with this before, or know a trustworthy shop in northern Illinois, let me know. Would seriously appreciate the advice.
