Cross Walk of Hope_New Zealand

Cross Walk of Hope NZ is a national Christian prayer pilgrimage supported by Mighty Men NZ. Founder Riaan Moller carries a cross engraved with the names of families requesting prayer from Auckland toward Slope Point, sharing one message: You are not alone.

This mission stands with families affected by cancer, severe mental illness, and family violence. Born in an unexpected season of leave without pay, it is not a race or personal achievement. It is a journey of presence, prayer, listening, encouragement, and practical support.

Every name is a prayer. Every step is a burden shared. Every kilometre is a declaration of hope.

Today brought some of our toughest conditions yet—busy roads, rain, uneven surfaces, bridges, cold air, and wet road shoulders. It was a demanding day for our feet and knees.

Yet the greatest highlight was the people. We met some of the kindest, most caring New Zealanders, who served, encouraged, blessed, prayed for us, and inspired us to keep going. It was a privilege to return that love and encouragement.

The farming communities were simply incredible, and our trucker friends once again filled the journey with enthusiastic waves and horn blasts. NZ truckers—you remain our heroes!

The cows, sheep, and ponies, together with the stunning countryside, reminded us that our Creator King reigns over all and faithfully watches over us.

Thank You, Jesus, for Your perfect sacrifice.

🚶‍♂️🚶‍♀️ 1,638 KM WALK FOR A CAUSE | DAY 20 HIGHLIGHTS – 41km

Today we walked a RECORD 41km, from just south of Horopito to Waiouru.

Our day began at 4:50am as we packed up and hitched the caravan. Louisa dropped us off just south of Horopito, where we finished Day 19 (the previos day). We started walking at 7:05am.

It was hands down our toughest day yet! Those 41km demanded every ounce of strength we had. Sore feet and chafing thighs were our greatest physical challenges.

The reward was breathtaking. Under clear blue skies, Mt. Ruapehu stood in all its majesty, while countless truck and car drivers encouraged us with waves and toots along the way.

We also enjoyed encounters with cows, horses, sheep, and antelope. Even the Rottweiler that leapt over its owner's gate while we stood our ground couldn't shake our resolve!

A special thank you to Wesley Augustus, Jason van der Wath, and Grant Prodger, whose phone calls of prayer and encouragement came at exactly the right time.

We finished the day's walk at 4:45pm, arriving at our POP caravan site.

Today we walked from Waimarino to just past Horopito.

A cold, windy day with morning showers made for a chilly start. With the school holidays underway, the road was much busier than usual, but the breathtaking scenery around us filled our hearts with praise and gratitude to God.

So many kind drivers encouraged us with waves, smiles, and plenty of hooting. Our truckie friends certainly didn't disappoint with their enthusiastic horn honks!

And, as always, the friendliest supporters along the way were the curious cows. 🐄

Thank you all for your continued prayers and encouragement. Every step is worth it.
