Are you ready for the fourth edition of the Africa Wiki Challenge ??🥳🥳🥳

Theme: 💡Educate Africa: Nurturing Minds for the 21st Century.🏫👩🏾‍🎓

In commemoration of the African Union Day, which seeks to promote and defend African common positions on issues of interest to the continent and its people, the fourth edition of the Africa Wiki Challenge writing contest is to bridge the content gap in Africa on the web, specifically Wikipedia.

With over 158117 new article contributions from the previous editions and participation from 30 countries, this year’s edition promises to be exciting!🤩🤩🤩

The celebrated African women's achievements through two main events: the and the . 💁🏾‍♀️

The writing contest aimed to increase the representation of African women on Wikipedia, focusing on creating new articles for prominent women who lacked Wikipedia coverage and emphasized collaboration, with participants making significant contributions to Wikipedia articles, showcasing a total of 60 registered participants and over 4,490 edits by the contest's end.🥳

The provided a platform for inspiring women from diverse fields to share their stories, offering valuable perspectives on empowerment and fostering connections across sectors. 



Once more, we appreciate your contributions and are working with the newly formed jury to have winners selected and awards disbursed by the end of April. Moving forward, ‪@ofwafrica‬ seeks to continue empowering African women and bridging the gender gap on platforms like Wikipedia, inspiring change and fostering inclusivity in the process.🧡
